I believe she said part of her reason for coming out was the fact that Michael Sam, the Missouri football player, did it last week. His coming out brought this reaction from a Texas sports anchor. I was genuinely surprised.

It could've gone into liberal conspiracy/gay marriage territory but it seems Alma and Gbaji didn't make it in time.

Ellen Page is Canadian, speaks French, and makes American movies.

There's your bell.

I like her. Especially when in costume:

Had to google that one cause of some anti-hotlinking rules from celebrity movie archive (**** site, by the way, in case anyone thought it was SFW or Not).

Good outfit... gonna have to watch that movie now I think.

Not true. Her family is 2 hours from me and she has to fly in through the only major airport here to visit them. I have a remote chance of running into her and chatting with her.

This guy's a caster in my hometown. He's been on for years, and while a douche at times this video has made just about anyone I know from back home proud. I've seen this pop up on my facebook more times than any other video that went viral.

But on topic: Ellen Page is gay. Ok. So what? Moving on with my life, because I don't ******* care.

At least, not unless there is video proof. In which case I might be interested, depending on who the person is...

I'm not surprised you'd claim this. But I'm doubtful it's 100% true, given the site we are on and the recent movies (aimed toward this crowd) she's played in as well as the well hyped video game she starred in.

I did see the x-men movies, but didn't know who Kitty Pryde was and IIRC, I asked about her in one of the x-men threads. I actually had to look her up when I saw her name being thrown around. In any case, outside of the last celebrity thread, I'm not sure why you would think that I wouldn't know who she was unless wasn't anyone worth noting in the first place.

You might not care, but other people do. It's still "news" since there's so few openly gay/lesbian professional athletes (in particular).

There are a whole bunch in the Olympics at least. Mostly in sports coming from the X games I think. But all women, at least commentators like mentioning how some athletes are there with their girlfriend/wife and I have yet to hear them mentioning a male athlete being gay.

Putin seems to like going around and visiting the gay & bi athletes too, the Dutch girls anyway.

I would argue against the premise that since there are so many who CHOOSE to keep their sex life personal, that it is "news". I would argue that is more personal and more akin to TMZ/gossip than actual news. I understand the possible effects of these people acknowledging their sexuality, but giving it this amount attention actually takes away from the movement of equality. This is the same argument made in every other progressive movement and I don't believe that this should be any different.

I think it's a deal cuz she's the first openly famous gay female Eskimo.

Also, I had thought Ellen Page best known for Juno.

I didn't include it because I was listing things that a 20-30 year old video game playing male would be most likely to have watched and enjoyed.

Didn't that one of Michael Cena or his lookalike in it? Only thing I remember with him in it was This is the End, and more to do he dies early on.

Not even sure what this means. Do you live in some weird fantasy universe where C list actors are magical fairy princesses who require special permission to interact with? I imagine any of the forum poster who live near LA could probably "talk to her" in a ******* Vonns on a Wednesday afternoon. Oh wait, she's gay, a Bristol Farms. My mistake.

No idea. I imagine you orI could set up a meeting with her by contacting her agent. Why we'd want to is a completely separate question. Salient bit is that actors aren't some weird super social caste, particularly Ellen Page wattage actors.
