There was quite a lengthy thread awhile ago about a transgender girl who wasn't allowed to use the girls bathroom in her school.

In a similar case - or maybe the same one, Maine's supreme court yesterday found that Nicole Maine's rights were violated when she wasn't allowed to use the girls bathroom.

Nicole was a transgender 5th grader at the time. She had been told to use a faculty unisex bathroom at her school.

The court’s 5-1 ruling is the first interpretation of a 2005 amendment to the Maine Human Rights Act that added language protecting transgender people in schools.

Just as an aside, unisex and family bathrooms are the best ideas ever.

Except for maybe the rice cooker, those are pretty awesome too. But the bathroom thing is at least in the top 5 or so.

Pull-ups; I kinda wish I'd had them when my kids were potty training.

Ugh, I dunno, we haven't had much luck with them. They're okay, but they just can handle a real accident, they just overflow. I guess the "cool strips" or whatever that some of them have to help the little one know when they pee are nice, but I'm not sold on them yet.

I'm partial towards the George Foreman Grill.

I'd imagined being like diapers except the kid could put them on themselves.
