First time I checked this site this morning, it was down for maintenance. I was worried that this could be the Friday without a Thread.

Thanks to MLK I'm counting down to a 3 day weekend. Smiley: smile

I've got a full-fledged physical this afternoon. I'm not thrilled about that, but it gets me started on my weekend earlier as I'm not coming back to the office afterwards.

After doctor I've got a date with my kid to catch the last matinee showing of Girl With a Dragon Tattoo. Then I'll probably offer to buy him dinner somewhere.

We got a pretty snow storm yesterday - hoping to get out into the woods on the snowshoes.

Going out for a meal and drinks with some friends tonight.

Heading back to my house in Canterbury tomorrow. Then going for a house party to celebrate my friend's birthday.

Sunday I will be hungoverly trying to get myself organised for classes starting up again next week.

Hungoverly is definitely a word, btw.

Taking Elne and a girlfriend to the movies today. Going to have lunch out as well.
Working the next two days, will watch some football on TV, though I have to listen to the Ravens game on the radio and listen to the cheers from the stadium 4 4 blocks from the ship.
On Monday I go to see the IWIF doctor to see if he agrees I need a knee replacement.
This coming Thursday I will have surgery on my right hand for carpal tunnel, and forearm nerve pain. Will have a bit of the non fun one handed typing in the future.

UFC (what is it...142?) tomorrow with a friend. I think it's actually on FX/Fox, IIRC. So that'll be cool. Also, football.

The fiance asked to play a video game last night, so I started her up on Uncharted 3. She did okay with it, and had fun I think, but the notion of a controllable camera confuses her profoundly. She spends a lot of time walking the wrong way with the camera facing away from the action. So we'll probably play some more this weekend, and maybe catch a movie too.

Happy Friday!

3-day weekend here ~ YAY!!

Tomorrow the little man tests for his blue belt and then we bought tickets to the Monster Jam. He doesn't know about this yet and I can't wait to see his excitement!!

This was him 2 years ago at the Monster Jam.

Sunday is an outing with his MA class that includes ice skating and D&B dinner and game time.

Monday will probably be a nice relaxing day to recoup from the weekend.

I know I'm not an Asylumite or w/e, but I'm excited about this weekend!

After two years as Promotions Manager to a support site, I'm retiring. I'm headed out with a bunch of friends to celebrate tonight, by eating good food and drinking good beer. Sat, we're headed to Tare's for dinner. Then Xavier needs to finish his science fair project on brain freezes.

I don't think that reverance or respect for the dead needs the dead to be hidden from sight completely. It is the attitude that you bring, as a witness to a dead body, that matters, not the display and witnessing of a dead body, per se.

We actually got that a lot, but he did not want to cut his hair. He did finally cut it that same year because he said it got in the way.

This is him now.

Since Ray, the kids and I celebrated my birthday last weekend at Disneyland, this weekend is all about catching up on those pesky chores and errands that need to be done. Smiley: frown

Started developing a bit of a stuff nose and a scratchy throat and my body is aching a tad so I'm hoping I can power through and not get a full cold.

Monday isn't a holiday for me, presumably because my company hates black people.

That being the case, it's just a normal weekend. I'll likely do a lot of homework, and watch some playoff football. Maybe play some Skyrim of the homework thing goes well. I managed to finish Assassin's Creed Revalations last weekend, so I think I've reduced the games I'm addicted to by one. I'd like to go back eventually to finish a few things I never got to, but I said that last time and never did either.

I've got a rather depressing weekend ahead of me. Tomorrow is the funeral for a childhood friend who used to live across the street. Apperently she got married a few years back to an abusive @#%^, who somehow ended uo with custody of her kids and used that as leverage, eventually achieving tragic results.

In unrelated news, the site maintenance this morning was unintended, but was a side effect of some other maintenance that was only supposed to affect the admin / dev side of the house, so appologies for no notice and happening during the day, but it wasn't supposed to affect anything live.

In less depressing news, I started my wooden ship model. It's going to be a fictional 1778 era early american navy 18 gun Brig when it's finished. The kit calls the ship the "Blue shadow" which didn't exist. Near as I can tell, the only 18 gun Brig rigged ships in the 1778 fleet was the privateer Angelica (http://www.awiatsea.com/Privateers/A/Angelica%20Massachusetts%20Brig%20%5BDennis%5D.html) The Ranger and Saratoga both also apperently had 18 guns, but were reportedly rigged as Sloops, not brigs. I need to figure out if those ships would have been copper plated at the time. The british had been doing it for years, but I don't know if the Americans at the time had the capability or materials to copper plate any but their larger ships. Given the complete dissolution of the entire navy before the 1974 fleet was built, I suspect they probably weren't copper plated. Anyways, i'll put some pictures up once it gets closer to looking like a ship.

I'm a bit sick so this weekend will consist of How I Met Your Mother, Diablo II, lots of tea and soup and cuddling the cat. Oh and being envious as my ladyfriend is going to go shoot cool stuff in Germany (shoot as in photograph).

I may or may not go skating Monday or Tuesday though, I haven't gone yet this winter (as it really doesn't feel like winter) and I really feel like it. I am less excited about sitting and waiting for half an hour as my skates get sharpened because they badly need that and I can't do it myself.

Yikkes! Good luck with that. Whatever the hell is going around seems to linger for quite a while.

For me, I'll be watching some football and getting some work done around the house as well. Been almost a month since I've had the energy to do anything productive on a weekend. On Sunday, I've got my goddaughters birthday to attend (she's 15. How the hell did that happen?). That evening, I'll be at my weekly rpg where we'll be tip toeing through the heart of the Lunar empire to get a ship to some fabled island where fun, adventure, and a trip to a hell dimension awaits!

Only really olde people still play that. Just so you know.

Also, how do you clear your browser cache again? Isn't it shift + something or other? I'm still seeing the maintenance page when I try to get here through the EQ1 skin. Using the EQ2 skin now, but this blue freaks me out.

Everquest 1 AND Windows XP? That's nursing home material.

I have an interesting next few weeks planned. On the 30th and 31st, I'm going to finally get some studio time. I have a friend that I've met through playing a few places around town who's going to come play lead/fill guitar for the album. One hell of a nice guy, he is. He's big around Knoxville for having one of his songs stolen by Elton John--which turns out to be a fairly common occurrence.

Just for the record, if I ever show up to my wifes funeral (whom I reportedly admitted to having said things immidiatly prior to the cause of the funeral that caused said event) wearing a @#%^ing skull print jacket, you would have my permission to shoot me on the spot. Seriously? Skulls? at what point did that seem like a good decision. There was almost a double funeral...
