Ok you guys obviously don't like anyone new entering your forum and the FFXI people don't want to take their OOT conversations here and get bashed. Last night Illia and Pikko gave in and created a FFXI OOT forum. I don't like that solution. It means we will end up having to add OOT forums for every game, and will just fragment the community even more. So I came up with a new solution. This forum is now called Rants, and is specifically stated to be a no holds barred type of forum. Feel free to keep posting as you were. I created a new Out Of Topic forum for everyone else to use that will hopefully be a little more mint julipish, to quote Smash. Hopefully, that will keep everyone happy. Also, hopefully we will have enough posters to support two similar forums.

Actually, it could probably work. One of my other haunts, the Straight Dope Message Boards has used this solution for ages with good success. All the happy-happy pointless crap like "What's your favorite flower?" goes in the OOT type forums and the mean pointless crap like "Jophiel is a ******* lesion" goes in the Nasty forum.
Next stop, a dedicated political threads forum!

Good idea, bad way of going about it. We're not the weird ones, they are, I don't like our OOT being taken away from us. We're not really that bad are we? I say if anything, we've been more lenient with the FFXI posters that come in here.
How about we keep the OOT forum name, and they get a new forum called "daddy hold my hand while I post please".

I'd direct you to the SDMB Great Debates forum, but I assume you could find a bajillion pseduo-intellectual debate forums on your lonesome. Besides, they're fairly strict about flaming there, so the first time you tell someone they ***** their father over a rusted Chevy behind the barn, they probably wouldn't take kindly to it.
