The discussion of image signatures for FFXI has come up several times in the past and last night the topic came up once more. Below you will find three versions of the banners, one for each nation with different formatting for all of them. I did these on my own so quit laughing, they're drafts and better than notin'.
Nice banners, even if they are only 'draft'.
Some suggestions:
1) As has been said, drop the "xxx citizen" line, flag and color should be sufficient indication of this.
2) I would put the name of the server beneath the nation flag symbol (instead of it now taking up the full height of the banner). So just put "Hades" centered beneath my Bastokan flag symbol.
3) I would also put the rank info in the nation flag symbol. So in my case, there would figure a 9 in my Bastoken flag icon (preferably at the bottom right location in a contrasting color s.a. yellow).
4) First line of text: Name (linkshell), as with the Windurst example (server name below flag). I like the font and size as they are, no need to change that.
5) For jobs, just drop the "level" predicate and use short format like BST75 (instead of level 75 BST).
6) Instead of quoting job/subjob combo's, just quote all (unlocked) jobs. Very little people only play one combo. For instance, I'm not a BST/WHM, I'm also a BST/NIN, BST/WAR or maybe even BST/THF.
7) If place allows it, quote all job levels of unlocked jobs. If place is insufficient for all jobs, limit the list to the top x jobs (e.g. list 10 jobs ordered by job level, starting with highest).
8) You might want to consider using different font/color for jobs at 75.
9) Mission status: to save place, use 'official' abbreviations to indicate the expansions: ZM for Zilart, CoP for Promathia, ToAU for Aht Urgan. This allows for easy addition of future expansions while still being clear for anybody.
10) Crafts, use the guild icons to indicate crafts and the level as a number behind it. E.G. have the "baked bread" symbol with 100 for a cook level 100, the "fish" with 40 for a level 40 fisherman, etc. This should allow all crafts to be listed in a single line. Alternatively, only list x number of crafts, ordered by crafting level.
11) I personally wouldn't bother listing any title, since this information will change too often to be useful.
Hopefully, this will help you a little.
