that multi natation looks nefty.

Or another suggestion, is to have layers of the sig transparent, save as .png so most internet explorers should recognize it.

Maybe add a grey background? its too transparent..or i just dont see it right, all i see is the Shadow of the letters..and then some words on the face.

I also think it's better to do away with SJ and just have space for main jobs.

The problem is that FFXI characters are just too complicated. We're not confined to one job, or one nation. It's impossible to show everything, so keep it simple.

One nation I think is ok, because although you can change between them, most people don't change super often. Sure I'm Rank 10 in all 3 nations, but I'm Bastokan through and through.

I would suggest Name, Server, Rank (your nation or possibly all ranks), and one job. Of course I would like multiple jobs to display, but if I can't have all I think sticking to just one would be best. I think most people have one job that they consider their main, or they like the best, or best represents their character. People can still add a text portion to their sig beyond the standardized graphic and then they can put all the additional info they want to tell people about.

It's impossible to make everyone happy, so if you stick to the basic things that don't change (much), then at least everyone will be equally unsatisfied. :)

Yeah, IE users would not see what I originally posted.

The transparency is replaced by a white layer, cos Bill Gates doesn't understand what is meant by transparency I guess.

Switch to Firefox, don't mean to be off topic, but it's so much better :/

I like this idea, and I am not sure if this has been discussed but I would like to suggest that after someone's initial post in a thread, the signature shouldn't show up again. If you have a lot of people with these signatures with that kind of size its going to look a bit crowded within a thread.

A couple more examples of the multi-nation banner incorporating the FFXI bit I mentioned earlier. If I had the FF font on my computer I would've used that instead.

(the background color can be modified to whatever, I just wanted to stick something in instead of leaving it white)

This is a premium feature so I don't think you have anything to worry about there.

We probably wouldn't be able to implement a "hide sig in thread after first post" feature because of the additional thread load time it would cause.

1) No multi nations allowed! Either one shown or none for this project I'm afraid!
2) No drop shadows allowed!

It's gotta be kept fairly simple unfortunately (For now)!

I still think if we arent allowed to at least choose between race, face, and hair and have all options for them available, then we shouldnt use that in the sig.

I know, I know, what should we do then Mister Alobont. Well we still have the flag of each nation correct. How about a unique design for each maybe. All in all I think msot would be happy to just have their main nation shown. I understand that some have multiple nations but you can only use one at a time and you can change the sig if you change your nation.

Back to what I mentioned before what about useing the crafting emblems instead of typing out the craft? I think this would save some space but it might cause the thing to be a bit complex.

I also agree that subjobs shouldnt be shown. Most people just care about your main and most people have more then one main.

EDIT: Whatever happen to the one website that made sigs that tracked where you were and how much gil you had? What happened with all of that? I know some kind of big fall out happened.

I am in agreement about subjobs coming out. I will have to go check out just exactly how many different face/hair color combinations there are. Unless someone can point me to a good site with comprehensive art on it that we could use.

since theres so many faces do a poll for each of them then use the one that wins for each race?

Alternatively, we can just use the most popular face/race combinations as the FFXI Census shows (which a cheap short cut would be to go with what you can select for your Fellowship NPC.)

This is also a shameless bump, but yeah. It's too much data to have ALL the faces in the game, but picking the popular ones should mostly suffice.

Like mentioned before, keeping it simple is best. Making the banners clickable would fix most of the issues, as anyone that wants to know more info on you would just have to do that. (I mean, I doubt anyone from another server will care that you have 100 in any craft, lest the conversation is related to crafts.)
