A few questions here...

1. I understand the "open posting" nature of this site more or less but is there not some sort of 'filter' that can be put into place to at least cut down on the number of useless threads out there? It becomes quite tiresome to have to go thru page after page of threads just to find one useful one that is not a reiteration of the same flame fest in different words and so forth.

2. I also can understand to a degree the karma system but I have a question about that too... can any member rate posts? or is it limited to only people that fit certain restrictions (ie sage and higher, premium vs non). I ask this merely because in a couple of instances where I have attempted to 'rate' a post due to it's content etc. I have noticed no result in the overall rating of that post after the fact.
edit: also... just out of curiosity, what is the lower karma limit for the 'default' filter?

3. In regards to submitting information to the site... what would you say is the overall average turnaround for a mostly complete submission to actually appear as info within the site? An example would be if someone submitted quest information for a quest that is quite commonly done but is not actually covered in the "quests" section of the site.

Thats about it for now :P kinda afraid to post much more for a bit >:-P

1- just by score of post
2- gotta have a certain number of posts and a certain karma level
3- Matters on the individual site, and the day of the week, and which admins are working on that site at that time. So, anywhere from an hour to a couple days, usually.

you can also use the filter toggles at the top of the forum to set your viewing threashold. the higher you set it, the less low karma threads you see

Ok... yeah... figured that out... was wondering... numerically speaking... what the actual number values are for the "Default" filter setting (as most ppl likely have that set).

I believe Default is set at 1.49 and below are gone. Kao would know more and correct me if I'm wrong.

values:

1=>"Never Filter"
2=>"Default Filter"
3=>"Decent and better"
4=>"Good and better"
5=>"Excellent Only"

And it's rounded, so Never Filter catches everything down to 0.5, Default to 1.5, etc. The only way something goes below 1 is if an admin uses a -5 or a -50 rating (or if it's your journal you get those commands too)
