Maybe I should never have said SCH was BLM 2.0. Maybe it got around. Maybe you just figured it out for yourselves. But SE, seriously, why are you showing no love for SCHs.

I think you missed the point of why people started loving SCH over WHM, RDM and BLM. It was more than just the AoE Stoneskine trick, albeit an awesome trick. Anyone with half a brain knows Stoneskin via that method is virtually useless unless you're in Signet areas fighting EM/DC mobs. It's day has come and gone.

No, the reason why SCH was BLM 2.0 is that it was more versatile. Need magic damage? Dark Arts/Addendum: Black and boom! You're a BLM. Need healing magic? Light Arts/Addendum: White and boom! You're a WHM. No longer are you useless when your current primary role becomes unneeded. No longer did you have to say "Oh, we need healing? Warping, BRB." You were there and you were ready.

Flash forward to Abyssea.

BLM is once more undisputed king of nukes. I can one-shot most normal mobs with the right atma and gear. WHM is the undisputed king of healers. They can duo with just about any job that can hold hate, and cure them with no issues whatsoever.

And SCH?

SCH can eat sh*t. Here, have a lame 1/tick Regain, some hate tools no one really needs, and a couple abilities. Enjoy! Oh and your Empyrean gear doesn't get really amazing until full +2. Sorry about that!

We are relegated to the fringe once more. Useless in all roles, as we can't really proc effectively, can't do as much damage, nor heal for as much. We were just finally gaining traction as damage dealers to the end game crowd.

I'm not asking you to give back the damage BLM now has, or alter our Empyrean to give us more power. All I ask is for one spell to be given to us.

That's it, one lousy spell. This puts us back in as a healer at the very least in Abyssea. Sure, it's not everything I would hope for, but honestly giving us some visibility again might remind people that SCH is a really useful job! Right now, you offer up SCH, you'll likely be laughed at and have someone ask what kind of job you're REALLY bringing...

No argument here on ANY of that, however:

SCH has no role any longer. It's back to the way it was before they gave us a lot of those spells and abilities that made us "better". Efficient is more the word, as you say.

Stormsurge is a joke in Abyssea, and outside no one cares with the Signet/Sigil buffs (and no one goes outside those areas any more unless for trials now anyway). Helix is good damage, but DoT kills are sacrilegious in Abyssea, and only good for soloing or impressing n00bs in starter zones. Sure, we can still solo stuff, or low man with other SCHs or BLMs. But as for being a needed, desired job, we're completely off the map.

You know, it would have been amazing if SCH Empyrean had + MAB on more than one piece, or + Cure potency at all. Instead we got a crock of sh*t, with the only really OMG moment being if we get a Quick Cast on +2 sets. The body is really the only amazing piece, the rest is forgettable. 10% for some of the abilities sounds amazing, but since the base damage doesn't approach BLM, we're talking 100-200 extra damage per very large MP burn on top of what the ability offers.

I never wanted SCH to replace BLM or WHM wholesale, but I enjoy being more than a one-trick pony. I love being able to adapt to the situation and being beneficial without having to return to town and regear for 10-20 minutes. As it stands, I can't proc, I can't heal, my damage is subpar, my buffs useless and overall I'm just a waste of a party slot in comparison.

Which is exactly what the OP is asking for. So why is there even a debate?

He's been doing this in the BLU forum for months, and some of those spells are hard enough to type even before you drop that much acid.
