PC Wireless Gamepad Recommendations?Follow

Does anyone have a recommendation for a rechargeable wireless gamepad compatible for PC? I thought about buying a mod for a PS4 controller because I hear they're excellent but not sure I want to spend the money.

I have a wired Logitech gamepad that has served me well for years but I have young kids and a wire is to tempting for them. I thought about the Logitech 710 but I don't want to have to change the batteries every month.

The X360 gamepads are the best atm, but I don't know if the PC versions have rechargeable packs you can buy. If you don't mind waiting a few months or have $50 to blow, you can pre-order the Steam controllers. There is an XBox One controller for PC as well, but it will only work with Windows 10 and later OS'.

Seconding the PC version of the 360 controller. Serves me well. Most games just work out of the box with it. I found myself fiddling with controls on my Logitech quite often.

The steam controller sounds interesting. I hadn't heard about it. I think it will use 2x AA though. I look at the Xbox controllers but they've always felt a little bulky in my hands.

I've been happy with my 710 but I don't play much stuff with controllers so battery life isn't a big issue for me.

I go months between battery changes on my wireless 360 controller.

Yeah, battery lasts a long time. I use rechargeables.

I bought a battery pack and charge cable for my 360 controllers, which was a mistake I think.

After a while of not using them (didn't play 360 games for a while) they don't hold a charge.
