You feel old nowFollow

Five days from now marks the tenth year since my first post on these forums. I was 18 years old and filled with anxiety-- lonely, suicidal and completely clueless. There probably aren't very many people left who remember. I'd like to think now that I've grown up a bit in ten years. I'm married now. I've got a two year old son and nine year old step-daughter to look after, and today I have extreme anxiety for completely different reasons. I believe it is partially because of these forums that I have been able to survive with my sanity intact-- despite all the cruel remarks and days filled with anger and plotting to murder all of you. I almost think today that I may have been a bit of a masochist coming back here. Though, there was always a hint of reason, and kindness, followed promptly by a chorus of "Stop enabling Kuwoobie!"

I sometimes venture onto other forums. It feels like a bit of culture shock sometimes when half or more of the people who post sound like Rick Perry in a typical conversation. It is not necessarily a political thing-- just people who are unfathomably ignorant on every spectrum. Here I can think "Wow, what Uglysasquatch just said was rude as ****, but he is right." I'm not sure this place has not been overrun and taken over by "allisonburgers" type posters. Maybe this forum still carries its reputation from the old days, which acts as a protective barrier of sorts. This is the only place on the internet or elsewhere I can go and not feel completely disgusted with people and their thoughts, or lack thereof.

I remember once, when I first met my wife several years ago. She was reading over my shoulder a quote pyramid between myself and Belkira. "Wow, that person is really mean." she said. Smiley: lol "That's Belkira" I said. "She is always right." Sure there have been many times in the past we had locked horns, but even thinking of then, I feel nothing but fondness and respect. But it is quiet now, and dark. Sometimes I wish I could replace every spam post from India with something from Annabella, or Mindel, or Usagi, or Barkingturtle, Catt, Soracloud, Youshutup, Toohotforu, Nixnot, Kalivha, RJ, Nilatai, Nephthys, flea, Rimesume, Kaain, Darkdoom, Tailmon, Growlingbunny, AshOnMyTomatoes, Brownduck, niobia, Doug, Sweetums, and some others! By evoking these names I am calling you here! --Moogle fuckers, internet tigers, and those whose hovercrafts are filled with eels!

Of course I was right. With 44k posts it was bound to happen at some point.

You've been here longer than me and failed to notice me. Shall I call you senpai now? Grats on the milestone.

It's a risk I'm not willing to take.

Jul 14 2004 was my first post. I hate each and every one of you now as much as I hated you back then.

I suspect many 'firsts' were from 2004 as I think the forums prior to that were all wiped out.

Ugg, how sappy. Here's my first on the record. Though I distinctly remember specifically asking Kao a couple questions before this about my very first character, a Ranger (Ranger Elinda) which was also his class.

Hey...how did you forget me????

Edit: I was wondering how I came to the OOT and realized it was because of Nixnot, Usagi and Hellboy. What kept me here was playing Ogame with Rimesume and others.

I didn't forget you. I didn't include anyone who has posted fairly recently.
