We are just a couple of days from the infamous Black Friday. Are you going to go shopping and join the madness?

Got my PS3 on a pre-Black Friday deal today.

Friday, I sleep in.

I'm thinking about it. I usually wait until Thursday to look at the adds to see if there is anything I should go for.
I've gone the last 2 years, with the 2 year ago one being the "best"...
I waited in line at GameStop for almost 2 hours to just pre-pay for a game that wasn't to come out for almost another month (Darksiders). I got goofy looks when I said that to the dudes working the cashbox Smiley: laugh

I've been checking out the ads since they started coming out a couple weeks ago. We were going to go for the 42" Sharp 1080p 60hz for $199 at Best Buy even though it has pretty bad specs but we aren't looking for anything outstanding. We decided instead to grab a 32" LED Vizio 1080p 60hz from Target over the weekend.

I used my parents Premier Silver status to buy a PS3, Modern Family, FFXIII, and Boy Meets World on Monday. But I probably won't get them all until the Monday after.

I'll probably get a couple more games and we'll probably have to look at appliances and stuff too.

I was looking at a couple PS3 deals but, with everyone moving "Black Friday" to Thursday night, I decided my time was worth more than the savings. I'm not giving up half my Thanksgiving to stand in a line outside in the cold.

My sister has done the sales before and saved a healthy heap of cash. Especially on things like Legos for the kids' presents.

I may have to go out. I have a wedding on Saturday, and I'm afraid that my suit (which is at my mom's) won't quite fit. I totally should have planned better, or not got so fat.

You can buy the one I ordered from Best Buy if I am able to grab one at Walmart on Friday. Was hoping the one from Best Buy would be shipped immediately but it looks like they aren't even "releasing" it until tomorrow which means it probably won't get here until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest. I was hoping to be able to get some playing in over the long weekend and trade in the 2 games for credit at Gamestop and grab some better ones.

It looks like I'll be venturing into the insanity this year for the first time in many years. Friend called me and wants me to
go with her shopping and help her with getting some computer stuff at FRY's on Friday.

I saw someone camping out in front of best buy yesterday. Really? for $200 off a Sharp TV or $100 of a kind of crappy laptop? During the biggest rainstormw we have had in the area in the last 3 years? Alright, you enjoy your soggy tent Mr. I'm first in line for something that really isn't worth the effort.

We just got 60%+15% off (weird math) custom framing from Michael's any time tomorrow.

Dammit, now we're going out. Smiley: bah

The year before last, my son was close to 9 months old and I took him out that 3AM Black Friday. Only to one store, Best Buy, so we could get a present for OURSELVES...

Anyway, I found what I wanted and grabbed it in a hurry. I was in the store no longer than 10 minutes at that, and I pulled out my cell to call Tanya to tell her my luck! Little did I realize the checkout line was the problem.. Not finding your item.. Checkout lasted 2 hours before I decided to put the stupid thing back and walk out.

No. I won't be going this year.

I went to Wal-Mart and got the kids a Leapster Explorer each, since we were getting them those anyway and this weekend they're on sale as Wal-Mart tries to drum up Black Friday fever in Canada. Canadians are ignorant and a fairly large portion of us have no idea what Black Friday even is, despite 75% or more of our TV coming from the US.

You know, I'd thought the world was ready to ignore Rebecca Black and move on. Seems the advertisements on the radio had other plans, considering today.

The sales are also somewhat predicated on the notion that you'll have the day after Thanksgiving off and be able to go shopping (or stay up until 4am). I guess that doesn't work in the Great White North.

Nope, not unless you took a vacation/sick day. Wal-Mart is running their sale 3 days though.

Rebecca Black's Friday was too cheesy a pun for the advertisers to pass up.

I assume specifically you're talking about this one, though:

apparently, some stores have taken to calling it Cyber Monday, with a lot of Black Friday-like deals for online stores.

The saddest thing about that is the singers they auto-tuned for that commercial are better than Rebecca Black.

My wife picked up a $19 shop vac from Walmart today when it was halfway normal. Was no way either of us was going to stand in line at some obscene hour. Oh we got new cellphones from Ntelos they were giving away free smartphones that were normally $100.
