(Also got some nice toys for my 48Thf to ding into, Corsair's Knife and Vclaw (signed SH prs :o) so a good day!)

Gonna grab me a chanter's staff for buffs too.

Some bad things tho, I had a random urge to plat rng and dumped my 3 spare merits into Flashy Shot D: sure it's fun, but it should have really gone into Singing/Wind D: Oh, and a quick 0/3 on Enlili's Brais :x

Okay, so I'm really just starting out, but me and my uncle (NIN) are staticking and I just hit 33, so I got Finale which is pretty cool for now I guess :P

Hmmm, yes, but relic feet were free, and Sha'ir are 240K on my server.

Well, maybe I'll put the 200K from the Mog Bonanza I just won to good use :P

Only the fast cast, and I am not sure it's enough to justify them by themselves.

Yeah, Artifact/Relic BRD boots are lackluster all together. I only used my AF boots once, during the Maat fight.

I currently use the Sha'ir boots and probably will for a long time.

For a bard who doesn't really melee, nothing really wrong with just having Heart Snatcher.

For Thief who is expected to produce high numbers, then yes, it is an loldagger. But no sense in a bard laying down 2mil for a blau dolch when a heartsnatcher will kill things too.

I have both Heart Snatcher and Blau, and both 75 thief and bard, and I never use my heart snatcher. I had Heart Snatcher first and was unlocking it for my bard, just because it has a higher latent base damage then other daggers bard can use, but once I got my blau on Thief, I never touched it again.

Unless you're putting together some leet bard melee gear setup, no real reason to invest in a good quality dagger. To the extreme its like saying, I want a mandau for my bard instead of a gjallarhorn. Save your gil for something bardly :D

True - If your running around as a DD BRD, you can pretty much play however you want since the whole things is a bit 'lol' anyways.

But, I never said to drop 2 mil on a Blau either. Behemoth Knife +1 and Jambiya parse better than HS and (depending on server) is pretty cheep. If you were a THF, you could sell HS and buy Magnet Knife and still have some gil left over.

I wasn't trying to slam him on the post. I was informing him that I did the exact same thing (unlocked HS) before I got lol'ed by a few THFs in my LS. The BRD forums isn't an ideal place to look up info on decent melee builds, and it never dawned on me to look in the THF forums for answers. Whether he seriously wants to build a DD BRD build or not, doesn't change the fact that HS is a poor latent weapon (unlike the other latent weapons). I also didn't want him to be the suprise target of an 'lolHS' event like I was.

At the very least, he knows now.

1/5, I almost gave up on Bard because of it

@7K to 75 T_T A party camped over us on birds last night when we were down to five, so we called it even though I'm so close I can taste it.

I'm meriting the very second I get on tonight.

Waiting for me are:
- Kirin's Osode
- Bard Cannions
- Loquacious Earring
- Rostrum Pumps

My bard gear will be nowhere near complete, but I'm 1/3 of the way to an Omega's Ring already with Einherjar, and expect to have it within the next two months. As soon as I win my Novio in my endgame shell (I'm 2nd in line atm), I'll put my name in for a Manteel ^^ We've gotten three cloths from Bahamut V2 now.

Pretty much the only other thing I need is an upgraded neckpiece, so I suppose it's time to start saving for some torques.

I wear Suzaku's Sune-Ate along with Byakko's Haidate in merits rather than grabbing AF out of storage. It's not worth lugging around full time debuffing and buffing gear for me, since I mostly break out BRD for merits and not anything harder than that. It's because it's BRD and they'll be landing buffs on anything with pretty much just Terra's/Apollo's and decent +skill setup or forced to sub /BLM in which case it only makes sense to load up on the +CHR for Elemental Seal.

There's no reason not to wear something useful in a slot where every other option sucks. Even Dance Shoes would be better.

I do not promote or encourage the mindset of "well, all I do is merit on BRD, so it doesn't really matter what I wear." Yes, it does. For every well or decently-equipped BRD out there, there are 23987098 gimp ones who "only use it to merit."

It should probably be said that I absolutely hate when people level BRD just to merit and nothing else. Especially like the guy in my LS who hates the job, but levelled it just so he can merit... -.-
