I'm almost 80 and im trying to figure out which great axe is the best one. I see the trials GA, i see Vermiel Bhuj, and the WS GA. im not sure lol.
also im tryna figure out a good TP set for 80+
with all this new gear out its hard to keep up smetimes lol

first the Trials will take time, getting vermeil depends on the group you go with, the WS GA are crap i've heard.
TP gear: full perle is good but a good portion of lolGaxe's forum for top lvl gear is still pretty king.
there are also alot of good abyssea nm drops out there also.

What's within your means? What do you currently have?
For weapon I'd go with the 7% DA Kunlun +1, it's a solid all around option. For the rest, you should be working on af3+2 as well as maxing out other Haste slots. Get a Blitz ring if you haven't already, find a few people to trio Ovni with, and work towards either Dusk Gloves +1 or Timarli Dastanas.
Mix and match the rest of your gear based on your hit rate and support job. Subbing SAM plays the same as always, but you can keep a 6 hit /NIN with only 20 sTP. Aurum Cuirass is pretty much a must, the rest is easy enough - Brutal, Rajas, Rose Strap, then either White Tathlum or Belenos's Mantle. If you are using a single hit WS you will need to wear Chivalrous Chain as well.

Vermial Bhuj has already been left behind. Just comparing it with the WSD+10% trial, 8 STR is going to win by 2 base damage during TP, and even though it offers a significant boost during WS it gets demolished by that 1.1x multiplier on Sumeru +1. The 8 STR gets worked out a few times inside the damage formula, giving it a pretty static effect, while the weapon skill damage gets tacked on after everything is said and done.
If the choice is just between those two, Sumeru +1 for sure, but other trial options are further ahead, and by a fair margin.

I believe the thread was made when we were at lv 80, when we didnt have Sumeru +1.
For level 85, the comparation should be Sumeru +1 vs Atlas +1 vs Barbarus Bhuj
IE:
D104, 488 Delay, WS damage +10%
VS
D108, 482 Delay, 8 STR, 22 Atk
VS
D112, 488 Delay
