Has anyone else tried a few of these from Dominion Tactician NPC's in Altepa?
Best one i have gotten so far is...

DMG:44 STR+3 VIT+3
Augment: DMG+6 STR+2

I have a few others with DMG+4 Augments and random elemental resists. This any good?

Out of the ones you've mentioned, I'm pretty sure magians still win.

That's a decent holdover if you don't want to do trials. I don't know if they've added any non-magian swords, but that thing's at least better than a Lv75 sword.

Got one with Shining Blade +25%.....I suppose if you could get vorpal, that might be pretty nice.

Does it work offhand? If it does AND Vorpal is a potential augment, dual-wielding could be quite viable (and I wonder if you could use two for +50%) .

Or maybe not. Vorpal doesn't seem to work well on the things I seem to want it for.

Definitely something to look into.

WS Boosts don't work on off-hand (Be it TP bonus or specific WS boosts), and of augments I've seen pop up, they currently seem limited to those on the magian paths... so no vorpal.

The WS Damage+% magian swords don't, I don't see why this would work any differently.

Max Tiers I've Got So far (approx 20 Firms)

Shining Blade +30 %
MND +8
DMG +6
Resist Stun +5
Wind -7 Earth +7

and the best combo was so far

MND+8 / Resist stun+ 5 / WE -6/+6

too bad for the WS Bonus i hoped to find something as Savage Blade + x% (would be sexy with mnd bonus) or Vorpal blade (for fun into Abyssea with RR VV & SA/Ha)

Really, some swords are super easy to make.

Take the INT + MAb what works wonders for Saunge Blade.

You do leeches and beatles. All swords have to do these and are anoying.

After that you do crabs in KUffal tunnal. This can be anoying as well. Note you can skip this stage if you kill 15 Sub zero smash mobs in ice weather Xland S. So again its easy.

But after that, Super easy!! Due to the fact ice beings o common in Xland S and Ulrange

1st kill 200 worms. 5 points a worm due to ice weather = 40
2nd kil 40 sperm heads in xland S. again 200 5 points a pop due to ice weathwer
3rd go back to Ularange This time kill rapters. 250, or 50. with ice weather.
4th Go again to Ulrange kil buffalo 300 or 60 ice weather.
5th head back to Xland S. This time killd emons or imps 300 or 60.
6th guess what, head back to Ulrange, while iceday or weather farm 15 of those ice things or buy them on ah.

One to two days you can finish this sword. The one thing that sets this sword creation apart form the others ois those two zones have ice weather every hour of teh day. Say vs flans for fire sword fire day of the week and no weather.

Khandra is easy as well. Besides the clusters and the whamouras. You can do the rest right outside windy with a level sync 10-16. Just give someone 30k and let them be on auto follow. You go around and kill all the vermin or birds or mandies you need. You will two shot these mobs so they wont even get any TP moves off. One stage for this sword ask for you to kill the arcana mobs. This to, kill those evil card bastards with a level sync.

Spend 43k notes on both these, Yataghan (knife) and 3k for the SAM weapon to check it out, because there was little else to buy with them.

Highest Firmament was DMG:+7 MND+5 Shining Blade+25% (acceptable, seeing as most magians are 52~54)
Highest Yataghan was DMG:+8 (which is decent considering base 35)
Highest SAM was DMG:+8 (Which is major fail with a 84 base, DMG+ might go higher considering low base)

I suppose considering the other weapons i've tried, Firmament is likely to go to atleast +8 too which makes it DMG:52 in total. That's far from terrible, but a little work in any of the magian trials outdoes it on both DMG and stats.

Short answer is, they're not worth it. And let's not forget it's horribly random. I got a +8 on SAM on the first trade. It took me around 30 trades to get a Firmament up with DMG+7. But then again what else are you going to spend Dominion Notes on anyhow after the first day?

Well, they are worth 7K gil.... so at worse they are a way to turn dominion notes into gil.

I did four and got three with Resist Stun and one with +4 damage... overall, not too impressive.

Best 2 ive gotten that I use are both dmg+ and resist stun+

dmg + 7 and resist stun +5
dmg +6 and resist stun + 4

Figure both were better than my plain old firmament

Had 29k dominion notes and burned them all buying firmaments until i got those

Npc the rest and had 380k when i was done. Win in my opinion since im usually broke.

The highest resist stun I've seen was a +5
The highest Dmg + I've seen is +9, I got remarkably lucky after spending over 83k dominion notes...
I've seen Shining Blade +30%
and Mnd +8

Now... if only it warranted not having to do those stupid str sword trials... I'd be happy... but alas... waiting for fire weather in all my free time goes...

The light path trial may be a little harder if higher than 75. But, it is a snap if you can sync to a 74/75. Wind weather happens a lot in the labyrinth. And, the mantas were just the right level back then. In the weather downtime you can open chests and hunt NMs. I made about $200 k doing this trial. After that it only needs to be firesday. I don't think any trial took more than 3 fire days to complete.

actually its exactly the same for level 76+.

all mobs you can get exp/aggro from at 75 you can get exp/aggro from at 90.

the only difference might be at 74. Since some of the flying manta can spawn at level 55, and you need at least level 56 for exp if you are alevel 75 or above.

After reading this thread, I hopped on and picked up 9 Firmaments. I was curious, and figured if nothing else I could vendor them.

Amid a host of elemental resistance/weaknesses, what I learned was that Resist Stun +X seems really common (in my limited sample), as 8 of them possessed it.

My best two were:

MND+7, Resist Stun +3, Shining Blade Damage +25%

Wind -3, Earth +3, Resist Stun +5, Shining Blade Damage +10%

It is a bummer that +WS Damage does not work in the off-hand, as it would be nice to DW these. /grin

But yeah, I will still stick with Magian Weapons overall - but I am going to sock the +MND one away for off-handing (not sure when, but as a longtime BLU, I just can't let go of a +3 STR/DEX, +7 MND anything)...
