since the patch whenever I log into the game I keep getting crashed. the screen gets red streakies and then goes black...the comp stays on, but the screen is stuck on a blank black screen.
this doesn't happen while playing anything else except LoTRO.
I've tried restoring windows to a date a few days ago when this wasn't happening, tried patching all programs, and tried updating windows.
any thoughts??

If it isn't your video card driver in need of an update, it may be your video card fan has coincidentally failed at the same time as the patch. Download and run speedfan, and report what temperature the card is running while in game, and what model card you have.

here are the temps and what theyre staying at.

Yeah, you are overheating. That auxiliary sensor in particular is worrying. I'd check your computer case for any dust on the motherboard, blow it out with an air can, check for any failed fans, etc. Possibly the fan on the video card itself has failed. What kind of case do you have, how many fans, are you doing an overclocking?

update...tried playing last night again (with case open) almost 10 minutes after taking that photo. when it crashed this time, windows automatically used the Windows Memory Diagnostics tool. It checked for problems and found none.e
keep in mind this is ONLY happening with LoTRO...even with graphics turned all the way down.
also- i tried doing this deleting the OpenAL and then renaming "wrap_oal.dll" and "openal32.dll", after doing this is when the memory tool came up on restart.

Like Kao said, you are severely overheating. 93C on a vid card is insane. My nVidia used to get into the 70s before, and I would freak out.

I suppose I'll try cleaning it completely. should i do anything in particular after cleaning the entire inside?

okay, all cleaned! i took the cover off of my GFX card, and the heat sync pads are falling apart, so i cleaned them up, put it back together, and here are the new resting temps

GPU is much better, but it's still a tad high. By chance, which video card are you running? I don't even know what an aux temp is, so my guess is that could be broken. I know my speedfan has a sensor that reads 0 C constantly, I don't even know what/where it is.

temps are just as high as before, but this "black screen" i normally get doesn't happen when I play cod: black ops though, only while playing LoTRO.
i feel like i'm not going to find the answer :(

You'll find the answer, it just might take a bit. You said your heat sinks were falling apart, did you use thermal paste when you put them back together?

it was a woven material laced with thermal paste, which i left there. still playing CoD:BO with no problems, it has to be something wrong with LoTRO.

Once you take anything like that apart, you really should be putting new thermal grease in place. CoD:BO might be more forgiving of the temps than LOTR:O, though I don't understand why that is.

was using DX9, after i re-installed LoTRO it went into DX10, and hasn't crashed since.

There is a very specific crash situation that occurs with some models of "Factory Overclocked" graphics cards in Lotro and other games:
* The game enters a "black screen" but the sounds etc still are playing
* Alt-tabbing or otherwise changing the games focus causes the crash
This is an issue related to the Factory Overclocking settigns of the cards, known fixes or workarounds are:
* Lowering the games "Engine Speed" and/"Graphics Quality" settings mitigates/eliminates this
* Reducing the overclocked card back to "stock" speeds mitigates/eliminates this
* Replacing the failing card eliminates this
The card is entering a fault state due to heat/voltage and attempting to reset but fails and causes a crash, reducing the "stress" that the game places on the card can mitigate or outright eliminate occurances of this.
