theses r my specs its higher then the min reqirements but wont start up (ffxiv has stop working) is all i get....
its has an i7processer with quad corse radeon5870graphics so i am wondering if it is becuzz its a laptop? any info greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

Most likely this. There is a glitch with some hardware/driver combos when you get over 1200 on the horizontal resolution that is causing it to crash--not specific to brand of card, but more the OS. People with dual-boot systems can run the higher resolution when they boot to XP, but not Vista/Win7. Still haven't seen an answer for whether its an OS/API issue (ie the dx9 wrapper in dx 10/11), or a glitch in the drivers/chipsets themselves.

But, for the most part, your hardware is pretty much in spec.--the 1.6 GHz might be an issue (ie if load time goes past a certain threshold, the engine could "timeout" on startup or something)--but CPU SPEED isn't usually a determing factor as much as the level of the processor technology (ie, which family and model)--unless a short test is done by the game to check the MFLOP speed or something and it fails b/c of the slower speed.

A few things to try--lower resolution, run the webupdate for DirectX, and updated drivers/firmwares.

k all i needed to do was upgrade my driver got a link that will help ppl who was having the same problem and a few others.. so if u have the asusg73jh this is for u http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/9977-asus-g73jh-notebook-ffxiv-guide/

my Desktops can run FFXIV.... but my ****** laptops can >_>
I even updated to Windows 7, updated my drivers (To my knowledge) I wen't through all of em and I keep getting the message "Couldnt not find any new info... blah blah... Drivers are up to date."
