Ok, I'll bite even though it's probably stated in some other thread.
Afflatus Solace allows you to draw strength from healing spells you cast.
Whenever you cast a Cure, Curaga (or not?), Martyr, or Benediction, the amount of HP you've healed your target for is recorded up to a predetermined limit (based on your level).
Afflatus Solace also grants a bonus to a verity of spells while active:
Cure I-V will grant a very short duration stoneskin effect, based on the tier level of the Cure used.
Barspells will be given a magic defense bonus +5 effect when hit with a spell of its corresponding element.
Sacrifice will be increased to absorb up to 7 ailments, and absorb all ailments removable via -Na spells and Erase (except silence and petrification).
Holy will be granted a huge magic potency bonus based on the recorded amount of HP healed while under Solace (the HP recorded will be reset after Holy is used).
Afflatus Misery draws strength from damage you take.
Whenever you take dmg with Misery active, the system remembers the damage, however it is non accumulating and will override if hit again (lower dmg or higher dmg will still override the previous memory).
Afflatus Misery grants a bonus to a verity of spells while active:
Cura is granted a fairly large cure potency bonus based on damage taken (record of damage is reset upon use of Cura)
Esuna can remove up to two ailments, and removes all ailments removable via -Na spells and Erase (except silence and petrification)
Auspice grants a whitemage with Misery activated the effect of Enlight, and grants a accuracy bonus when a melee attack is missed. (only for the Whm)
Banish spells potency is increased based on damage taken (record of dmg is reset)
That's the gist of it
Edit: Suppose it would help to explain the 4 new spells.
Sacrifice: Steals ailment effects from one target party member (Under Solace: can remove all ailments removable by Na spells and Erase (except silence and petrify) and is able to absorb up to 7 ailments at once.)
MP Cost: 18
Cura: Heals all party members within area of effect (Alone its effect is lackluster; however with a sutiable bonus from Misery, it becomes the most MP efficient healing spell in the game, far more efficient than regen)
MP Cost: 30
Auspice: Grants the effect of Subtle blows to party members within AoE. (When used on a Whm with Misery active, grants Enlight and an Acc bonus if their melee attacks miss.
MP Cost: 55, Duration: 3 minutes
Esuna: Removes an ailment the Whm is afflicted with from the entire party (With misery active, removes up to 2 ailments and can remove all ailments removable by -Na spells and Erase (Except silence and petrify, as they would prevent the user from casting it.
MP Cost: 24
