Handball is like soccer with a dash of basketbal.

Basketball is pretty cool, **** happens during basketball games. It's nice that play can switch around quickly as well, I like that high pace in sports.

That was the first thing I thought of, but it seemed like a weird option here...

I'm pretty sure that's a vegetable.

Fine, tennis against a wall without rackets.

That's the kind I played in college, not the kind Aethien likes. It's fun in it's own right though. Smiley: grin

I don't care much about handballl, it's pretty big in lots of places in Europe but it's not really looked at here.

It LOOKS like field hockey without the sticks.

And if you're going to make me watch one, I'm going to watch the game where the players run around with big wooden clubs every time.

Curling?

Seriously, the temptation to misuse those brooms must be awful.

It's really very different from field hockey, although it shares the high pace.

To be fair, I know nearly none of the rules to field hockey. I just noticed how similar the fields looked. Though I suppose it looks more like they put FH goals on a basketball court.

Still, though, I vote for the game with clubs.

Yeah, when I was a kid we had a saying, "watching baseball is like watching grass grow."

But then they started using artificial turf. I tell ya, the world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Though, the one thing I CAN say for baseball, is that it's one of the nicer games to get dragged to (assuming you like the people you're with). It's slow, and involves a lot less screaming, so you can actually maintain a conversation with the people who ARE into the game without getting too annoyed.

But how nice it is outside that day obviously matters. Get a cooler day, a seat in some shade, and a light breeze, and it's not so unpleasant.

I don't give a crap about the game, but the butts are nice, and I'm not being ignored and left to fight my boredom alone.

Handbal you score from outside the circle, hockey only from inside the circle, I think you can't run with he ball in handball but I'm not so sure about that and with hockey you obviously can. They've also streamlined hockey rules a lot over the past decade or so, allowing people to take free shots for themselves instead of having to pass to a teammate, they've introduced video referee and abolished or loosened rules. It's pretty great to watch.

And the world cup is in the Netherlands this year.

Well there goes all the fun. You're supposed to go to a ballgame and scream yourself hoarse to the point you can't talk for a week. You know try and get in the opposition's head, help swing momentum, support the team, all that kind of stuff.

If not for that then why go? The game is probably better at home on T.V.

Because you like hot dogs and a warm summer days?

I mean, I'm not the one to ask. Smiley: lol I just know there are times I've been dragged to games, and I hated baseball less than the others, because people were more willing to talk.

Go to the park, turn the radio to the ball game, toss the Frisbee around with the friends. Smiley: nod

I dunno, there are some nice things about baseball games, but it's not usually the baseball game. I can go to a game in Seattle, go up to the upper deck, and look out at the sun setting over Puget Sound these days; that's nice and all. Maybe my games growing up were all in the Kingdome, which kind of ruined that whole atmosphere. Nothing like sitting inside a big grey coffin for a few hours on a nice sunny day. I suppose I wouldn't give any of those memories back (especially not Edgar Martinez's homerun ball Smiley: wink), but I've just about baseballed myself out over the years.

To be clear, I think that's why I enjoy them more than others. Smiley: lol

I don't give a crap about the sports, so it's up to everything else to entertain me. I find baseball fields tend to be more relaxing/comfortable/entertaining than basketball courts or football stadiums (which I have a particular hatred for).

Yeah, I can't imagine there's much relaxing about a football game, basketball wasn't much better if I recall. When I went to the Saints game a couple of weeks back I took a friend who'd never been to a pro football game before. He had a blast, but I don't know if he'll ever go again. He said there's something about being able to have a conversation, or get food when you're hungry, or especially go to the bathroom when you need to. Smiley: lol

Idigorry, you should watch speed skating. The skating movement is hypnotizing and relaxing to watch and the skaters wear skin tight suits. America has some very serious chances for medals on the 1000m fpr both men and women and on both team pursuits. A smaller but stillnserious chance on the 1500m for men as well because Shani Davis is ******* amazing.

Athletic bodies, big and powerful legs. Just google Shani Davis, Sven Kramer, Michel and Ronald Mulder, Jan Smeekens and I don't know the names of many non Dutch speed skaters at the moment.

If you like the sort of farmer boy handsome you'll like watching them.

So I happened to come across a TV show following 5 transgender people on their journey. It's fascinating and done very well, I hope it'll be translated or adapted into English as it's very well made.
