Haste and the lack of...Follow

So I just dinged 70 a big ago, and I find it difficult to imagine switching from a build that focuses mainly on Crit (That is really all there is prior to 70) to one that is more haste focused. I am not sure that Haste is worth it in the relatively small quantities I find now. As a note, I just started Northrend.

Do any of you have a feeling for how much haste you need to see an impact?

What level should you really begin focusing on haste?

Honestly you really shouldn't worry about it until you hit the 80+ zones at the earliest. You could wait until you start gearing up for 85 and be fine too. Northrend quest rewards are decent, but they're not quite as impressive as the Cata rewards of course.

I know it's probably disappointing to hear, but you don't really have to worry too much about stat stacking for quite some time. If you want you can try to gear towards haste over crit for the quest rewards, but while you're leveling it really isn't going to make much of a difference.

Just for reference, what spec are you playing and what spec were you planning on focusing when you hit 85?

Oooo... good point Pigtails! I am a Discipline Priest, and my off spec is Shadow. I am focused on Atonement healing, since I duo with my Fiancee a lot.

I agree with you, we need to get higher in level before I can worry about it. I suppose I already knew that but wanted to fret about it so that I would have a thread to read at work... I mean... in my free time.

lol, no worries. Priest forums needs more activity anyways. Smiley: wink2

Cata greens are available in the AH at 78. If you're persistent and patient they can be picked up for not much in the way of gold. But you have to watch for bargains.

Pigtail is right...278 stuff IS impressive over the normal run of Northrend rewards. Triple digit upgrades are common and in some cases mind-boggling. I have a 1H mace on my 79 spriest alt called Swamplight Scepter of the Seer that has +921 spellpower.

Good times. I have mostly 278 gear on this alt now and I don't think I've paid more than 50g for any single piece. But you have to be patient and ignore people selling stuff for 300g unless you have a toon somewhere that can bankroll that sort of thing (I do but I've resisted).

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
