I believe from what other people are saying, you start getting guildmarks once you get higher guildleves. Such as 20~ probably. I've been doing up to 10 so far and haven't seen any.
I personally don't like how everything is wrapped around the guildleves. I miss the days of going to the guild itself and signing up. So far the guild is kinda useless other then for mats. But I digress, this is only beta.

Rank 20 Leve's will start giving you Guild Marks along with the normal rewards. Don't forget at Rank 20 you can also go to your specific guild to start up a quest as well.

Specifically from the Weaving Leve's, you'll receive Disciplines of War & Magic Guild Marks from Battle Leve's, and Disciplines of the Hand guild marks from those Leve's. I will tell you as soon as I notice it, or receive a reward from my Rank 20 quests. I only recently hit Rank 20 and finished my quest at the Weaver's Guild. I have 1 Rank 20 Leve on me atm, and will keep you posted as soon as I finish it. Although currently it only shows Cotton Bolt x 2 as a reward, I'm hoping they will throw in some Guild Marks when I complete it.
Randomly a Rank 20 and above LocalLeve will give Marks base on the type of class leve. I have seen an average of 500~700 marks.
It will not display as a reward when accepting the local leve, neither the believe that silver leve will surely give them.
@R20 u can get a class quest at the guild from 1 of the NPC behind the desk. You must equip your needle to be prompted the quest.

Well said...I've actually gotten 500+ from a leve and didn't even notice. I don't think I did anything special quality-wise on that leve either.(Like getting a high total score at the end) So as far as I know it's really random. Was hoping someone might figure out a little secret to help ensure marks lol. Also, I'm rank26 now and still have no idea where to find a 2nd guild quest. Hopefully someone will figure those out too. Maybe the next one is rank30? That would suck...
Given that the botanist second quest is lvl 30, I suspect it is the same for all jobs.

I do believe you both,but i must be getting really unlucky.I have done a ton of silver rank 20 leve and over even a few level 30.And the only thing i have to show guild mark wise is the 2,000 i got for initial rank 20 quest.

I have the same problem with my weaver. I'm doing all the Rank 20 Leve's I can find, but I can never seem to get any guild marks for them. I really hope it doesn't base the rewarding of guild marks on the appraisal, because at Rank 22 Weaver, I can hardly get the quality past 50 most times, and the appraisal rating at the end usually amounts to 50 at best, leaving me with just a basic reward and some shards.

I have gotten 540 Weaver Guild Marks in 6 days of doing Weaver leves (since hitting 20). I am not sure which Leve gave me the marks, but I will start documenting it.

i have been 20+ for 4 days and levi reset 2 times not a single levi gave me marks a few of them were lvl 20's bad luck or bug ?
I finally had another that forked over some marks. 817 marks for "Fire on the Water".... total rating of 40... pretty sure it was rank20...but I tend to gather all mine together and do them at once so its possible it was rank25.
So since my previous post on the 13th, that's the 1st time I got marks on a local leve. All I do is 20+ Weaver or Alchemy with a few lower level LW mixed in sometimes. A piss poor ratio to say the least...

I have been taking vast amounts of Weaver Local Leve's to attempt to figure this out.Thus far i have only received Guild Marks for Silver Leve's Rank 20 & Above.I have done several Bronze trying to max out Quality trying to correspond that with Guild Mark's receiving over 100 quality several times still never getting marks for bronze.
With the small sample size of just this past week i would guess you only receive Mark's for Silver or Higher rated leve's Rank 20 & Above and that quality will effect amount of marks received.

This has some merit. In a DoW/DoM leve, I was supposed to get 900 CON marks, after I completed the leve, I did not change back to CON as I killed the targets using THM, after clicking the aetheryte, I got rewarded with 0 CON marks...
I haven't tested it again as marks are hard to come by.

Rank 20 and above leves seem to randomly (very?) give marks, as stated above. I take 20+ leves on 3 different crafting classes and have received marks only two or three times (that's not a guess, I just can't remember if it was 2 or 3 off the top of my head).
That said, when the guy above mentioned making sure you were on the right class when you turned the leve in I had that funny sinking feeling in my stomach. It's lucky there was nothing cute nearby. I might have punched it. Since I do a variety of leves, (and because I abuse Triangulate when running to camps) it is highly likely that I rarely turn the leves in as the right class.
Tonight when I do leves I will make sure to always be on the right class. I will post results later. Honestly, if I get more than 1 reward I will assume that being on the correct class is necessary to receive the marks.

You DO NOT have to be the proper class to get your crafting marks. Turned in a Leatherworking quest as a Botanist and received marks for it.

Since last post i have been able to do more Testing for guild marks.I always take 8 Local Weaver Leve's using all 3 cities rank 20 or above as long as available.I have received Guild Marks for non silver a few times now but is much more rare.It seem's to be completely random when you receive marks.Ive gotten high quality low quality received none for high and did get them for low.At first i thought there had to be a trick to it,something i was missing.Ive come to believe now its just a crap shoot.

Supposedly I had an LS member who received marks from a Rank 10 Leve for Leatherworking. He said he gained around 350+ marks, and didn't bother with the Quality because he only wanted the reward of some Sheep Skins. Although it's hard to believe, I wouldn't put it past SE to implement the acquiring of Guild Marks as soon as you finish your first Rank 20 Quest to be involved in the guild.
For me personally, I've done around 30 Weaving Leve's, mostly Rank 20, maybe succeeded in about 3 Rank 25's, and have only had 1 Leve actually give me a reward of Weaving Marks. While I do enjoy banging my head against a wall, and paying some one else to watch me bang my head into a wall, I would rather just have a better ratio of acquiring guild marks like with the other classes.
Although I do feel bad for the Gathering professions, who only receive their Rank 20 Leve's in one specific city. But even they can start receiving guild marks as soon as they can acquire the Rank 20 leve's at Rank 16 (I think). A friend of mine already has over 3K Botanist marks, and he's only a rank 18 Botanist.

That is what's frustrating me the most about this. Weaver was my first rank20 class and I have 3366 Weaver marks(2k from the r20 quest). I hit 16 fisher earlier this week and already have 2996 marks for that while still at 16. The r20 quests for gatherers only being in 1 city is odd, but at least with those & battle leves they tell you beforehand if you're getting marks. Would be nice to see that and select the leves that will give marks like all the other classes before I make that stupid trip to Bluefog or Broken Water = P

you didnt get any marks because u didnt kill it as a CON
I'm so aggravated by these guild marks. I dinged WVR27 today. I've been doing local leves religiously. Since starting to do rank 20+ WVR leves, I've earned a total of ~600 guild marks. ~250 the first one and ~350 on the next one. These were probably withing the first 3-5 resets of doing rank 20 leves.
7 ranks later, and tens of leves completed, I've not earned a single extra point. At this rate, I won't be able to buy any training until I do my rank 30 quest (I have done the rank 20 one, in case any of you were thinking that may have been my issue). It's just way too low of a chance for my liking. Pretty upset with crafting at this point :(
I hope the "Jesus" patch coming in November fixes a lot of the difficulties with crafting (recipes, shard issues, and marks).

I hear ya... I've been sitting on 4800 guildmarks for a whole week! I cant get 200 GMs, even though I did every single 20+ weaver Leve i've been able to get. did 15 or so this week, no GM at all :(
Update: Another 5 leves today (3 R20, 2 R25), 0 marks. haha. How utterly lame.

Between rank20 and 30 I only received guild marks once, and had to wait till rank30 to buy my first book, though I've heard of people getting enough marks before then. I am currently rank38 and have gotten, on average, 1200 marks total fro
2 leves(usually 800ish and 400ish) each reset since hitting 36. Just got enough to buy my 4th book after the reset last night.
I haven't noticed any real pattern to which give them, and can't say for sure if only silver and gold leves have given them... I do all 20+ local leves out of the 3 cities, which has never been more than 7 total. I've gotten them after failing either one or both of the extra attempts. I have gotten them from clearing nine ivies and emerald moss more than once, though even with 100+ rating, only get 400-600.
I'll try to start recording all info regarding color, rank, rating, etc, from the leves that give marks, though sadly, it seems it is purely random and only increases in frequency as you level.

Might be a completely stupid question but how can I do higher rank leves? I am lvl 15, very close to 16 weaver and can only get rank 1 leves from the adventureres guild in Gridania. Any help here from you awesome veterans?

I noticed that bold wasn't working so well for me also =/ If I was way over ranked (R15 doing R5 leve's) I could easily get over 100 quality on every attempt, not so much anymore.

Try going to Uldah where the weaver's guild is located, you'll have a higher chance of getting higher ranked leve's there. You should be getting rank 5 leve's very common in Gridania though...

It seems like the update ushered more instances of receiving guild marks for local leves. My fiance was astounded at how many of my leves post-update game me guild marks. :] I quite appreciate this change.

I have been REALLY struggling to get Weaver GM's. I'm R28 and have a total of 3000 GM's, 2000 of which came for R20 quest.
SOME SAY
- that is it all about Quality; high Quality means more chances for GMs
- that it is important to turn leve's in promptly after receiving them to get GMs
- that you won't get GMs if you're not holding the appropriate tool for the class you're turning in leve's for

- that is it all about Quality; high Quality means more chances for GMs
- that it is important to turn leve's in promptly after receiving them to get GMs
- that you won't get GMs if you're not holding the appropriate tool for the class you're turning in leve's for

That is the problem with blind random rewards that these are.
The high quality statement likely means that you get more weaver marks from the hq than you would if you did not hq it but doesn't seem to increase the chances of getting weaver marks (cant prove the second part but have seen a large increase for breaking certain thresholds on crafting rewards)
The time one I find dubious, I have accepted a leve, went into work then completed it after getting home and have received marks for it. (of course this is still random so it doesnt happen often)
You don't need to be holding the class tool for the rewards, I usually have a dol class equipped for running to out of city areas for turn ins and have gotten marks this way.
The fastest way to increase your chances for weaver marks would be doing nothing but the weaver leves of rank 15+ for crafting from all 3 cities. But this just increases the amount of leves for the random chance that you get marks and will take away from your other crafts chances.

My only advice is do as many 20+ weaving leve as you can. I can usually get 5-8 of them by going to all three cities. If one leve is out somewhere like Broken Water I check to see if I can get any other 20+ leve from a different class there. I have gotten 2 books from weaving doing nothing but leve. (Level 20 and 30 quest was used for a third book.)
Now if I could only get the 300BS marks to get my first BS book.

Rank 15 leves will also give marks.
My advice is to focus on getting over 15 total appraisal score. Get all 15+ leves every reset, and you'll see the marks flowing in. I am rank 26 weaver and as I type this am debating which training book to buy for my 3rd one.

SEEMS TO ME WHEN I GET GUILD MARKS THEIR IN THE CITY/STATE THAT THE GUILDS ARE LOCATED DOING THE LOCAL LEVES
