Question about HQ3 synthsFollow

Simple question. Is there any level you have to be at above cap so you can pull off HQ3 synths? And what is the rate of HQ3 compared to HQ1 and 2?

There is no magic level for getting a HQ3, but being in a higher tier does increase the chance of getting a HQ3.

HQ stratification is at a ratio of 12:3:1 for HQ1:HQ2:HQ3.

If you synthed 10,000 times, and had 1,000 HQs, you'd see a ratio close to 12:3:1, assuming there is a HQ3 for the item you're synthing.

This, unless your talking about desynth instead of synth, as the ratios are different.

The 12:3:1 ratio for synths was determined from something over 4k synths, IIRC, so it's pretty well nailed down.

On the other hand, I have a collection of notes on around 1000 poorly documented, loosely controlled desynths with weak desynth moghancement that suggest the ratios of Break:NQ:HQ1:HQ2:HQ3 are in the ballpark of 21:7:5:3:2. Someday I'll perhaps do a more controlled and statistically significant study.
