Ok guys, here is another brain buster for you......ok, my goal (as hard as it may be) is to make a Shiekh Manteel. (I know I know) The level for this guy is Goldsmithing 95 and Clothcraft 60 (Some say 59).
So....lets say I have at my disposal both +1 items for Cloth (glasses and apron) and all items for Goldsmithing.....which would you wear to try and HQ this badboy? Already assuming that the Mog House Items are in effect. Would you wear the Clothcraft items? Goldsmithing? Combo of both? Also, would you get Adv support for Gold or Cloth? I'm trying to get the best circumstances for this recipe. Any info or suggestions are totally welcome.....and yes, I'm aware of the cost (what it takes) and I know that this isn't a get rich quick scheme.

Wouldnt matter which it would still only be T0.
with it being 60 CC you cant break into the T1 with 95+ GS, with all 3 GS Items and support at 100GS you break into T1 but beacause the subcraft is capped at 60 you'll only get the effect of T0.
I've tried this with other items where I have been T3 on the main craft but T0 on the subcraft and have only ever had 1 HQ which i think was random luck. My Sample size was around 600 so it wasnt just a quick trail and error. My subcraft at the time was 15 levels below the cap so I skilled it up to 5 levels below the cap by the time i was finished.

I'd set up +3 in GS from the items, and then get Advanced Clothcraft support, just to cover the spread.

Ok, those are the basic responses as I expected....but it hit me when I was making Iron bullets on my main (100 alchemy 30 smithing). Now the synth for this is 45 alchemy and 22 smithing, but my HQ rate was Horrid....downright nonexistant. (Hell, I was getting more breaks than HQs) it was at that point that I realized that a subcraft plays just as an important role as the main.
In short, should I put everything I can into the +1s for cloth? Would that help even out the gap? I was thinking +2 for clothcraft with adv support and the moglification for goldsmithing......so just for clarification:
Goldsmithing: 100 + Moglification (two Moghouse items)
Clothcraft: 60 + 2 + Adv. Support
Any thoughts?

You are at the cap on teh CC subcraft so no matter what you do you will still have at least a 5% break rate. I would just wear the GS items and get CC support its not going to break T1 no matter what you do and you will always have the 5% break rate.
AS for your bullets, its the same as it is with the GS and CC, you'll need to take the BS up another 3 levels to break T1 then you'll see an increase in your HQ.

While I have your attention Nuker (and thanks, your input helped ALOT and saved me some time, gil, and headache) here are some more questions for ya....
With the guild belts (the ones that give support to the craft it represents) is it equal to adv support when used? Also, is it possible to have two active at the same time? (For example, Clothcraft belt + Leathercraft Belt?)

***NOTE: THESE ARE APPROXIMATIONS***
10 levels and under the item cap is Tier 0, ~1% chance at HQ.
11-30 levels above the item cap is Tier 1, ~10% chance at HQ.
31-50 levels above the item cap its Tier 2, ~25% chance at HQ.
51 levels and above the item cap is Tier 3, ~50% chance at HQ.
Whatever item you're making will depend on the lowest tier for that item. With your example with the Iron Bullets you were making, since you were only 8 levels above the cap for the smithing sub, you're still Tier 0 on them.

Just read your last post there, the belts are equal to advanced suppport, and no, you can't have 2 belts on at once.

FYI multi-craft synths have a lower overall HQ rate and a higher overall break rate, but over time, they are statistically small variances.
