Multishot > The -enmity one > whatever lol

If you also play a mage like me, the attribute swapping traits are good.

Don't underestimate Mind Over Matter I and II, and Asceticism I and II. I always equip both when I solo magic mobs, or mobs that do magic damage, such as imps. It helps your survival a lot.

I don't like Heavy Shot at all, to be honest. Well, not that I don't like it, but I don't have anything good to say about it.

It does about 15% more damage than LS, but also consumes about 15% more stamina. It's essentially the same thing as LS...so I prefer using LS. >.>

Heavy shot is good; it allows you to release triple nocked multishots more selectively since you can fire Heavy without shooting nocked arrows. Heavy shot becomes a standard attack and allows you to save Light Shot for multi x2 + raging/fero + whatever else you want to stack with it.

Heavy Shot also lowers the targeted mobs TP, which is pretty useful for things such as NM encounters.

Ah, yes, I completely forgot about this. It just might have a use for me after all. Cheers.

Now which ability to replace it with on my hotbar.....

Heavy shot is garbage, but then, that's an opinion. I have it, and I prefer to use light shot, because the amount of stamina and time it takes to get off heavy shot is the same as about 2-3 light shots. It balances out.

I have multishot and -enimity. Both are absolutely essential. After that, save your guild marks for the 10 Archer "merit point" passive traits. It stacks to 10, and costs 12,000 each. So, you need 120,000 marks for level 40. However, you'll be the best damn Archer you can be at lv40 :)

Heavy Shot is a good skill, it deals about the same damage as a CRITICAL light shot, without criting(and have the TP drain effect as well)...its not pure awesomeness, but it's worth buying/using(situational as stated in above posts, and you can keep arrows nocked).

About the "merit points" traits, it's not stackable(as of now), you can buy every trait just ONCE. You just get +10 archer affinity.

@Topic
Buy MultiShot, Out of Sight, Heavy Shot and Affinity in order.
You are going to unlock those(MS buyable or R20, Out of Sight R20, HeavyShot R30 not sure, and Affinity Trait R36*), so you have plenty of time to gather up marks.(And still, Heavy Shot is OPT Rank 40 and Affinity is OPT Rank 50)
After you're done with those, you can buy the remaining traits to use on your DoM, if any.

* - After completing class quest, on respective ranks.

Cheers.

What are you smoking? HS consumes about 115% as much stamina than LS, not 200-300%.

You cannot stack the +10 archer affinity skill. You can only buy it once (last I checked). And it doesn't improve your Arc abilities when you're playing Arc. It improves your Arc abilities when you're playing other classes.

Multishot > Out of Sight > Heavy Shot

BUT

I dunno about you guys, but I was going to get some THM and CON guild marks to get Complete Control & Will To Power.

What's your guys' opinion on that idea?

Approved.

I'm leveling Con to 50 not just to get those stat conversion traits, but all the higher tier spells I use on my Archer, as well.

Leveling mage-class to support warrior-class. Who'd have thought! lol

Is there any way to influence the game to give you more 'Guild Mark' leves without constantly leveling up?
As in- strictly questing for marks, not for sp.
To be more detailed- I have all jobs to lvl 20. How do I get more guild mark leves on THM and CON instead of the other classes? Or will it always be random.

Random. Horn and Hand faction leves are a good way to get a big chunk of guild marks if you're lucky.

Just wanted to comment about Heavy Shot.

I totally agree with the consensus of:
Multishot -> Out of Sight -> Heavy Shot -> whatever

I also agree about everyone's comments about how Heavy Shot can be useful. As far as the TP drain, it's hard to say how good it is. I was duoing mountain peistes with a LS mate and spammed heavy shot on it and it still used its TP move around the same point in the fight.

There are all sorts of variables there, maybe the fight was slower because I wasn't doing as much damage, maybe it always just had a ton of TP surplus and only fires its TP at a certain % of HP. Not sure, though I'm curious if anyone has had situations where they've found the TP drain portion of it really useful/noticable.

I'd assume if it is 115% damage and 115% stamina, and drains even 1 TP, it's better to use fighting NMs than Light Shot. Not sure if those percentages are 100% accurate though. Might test it out later.

My archer is rank 15 now. When do I start getting guild marks and how do I get them?

You get guild marks as reward from R20, R30, R40 Regional leve in city with the Guild. For Archer, it would be Gridania.
