Received the pre-load email and noticed the following line

"Early Game Access* will begin on December 13th at 7:00AM EST, 2011 and ends on December 19th, 2011 at 10:01PM EST."

Guess they decided they not to wait until the 15th to launch.

I honestly don't think they needed to. I never had a crash issue, absolutely no substantial lag and too few glitches to even be able to associate with a beta. It felt like a finished product from almost any other company, I doubt waiting a few more days would be of any real benefit.

Me neither. The game was more stable than some release versions of games I've played.

If anything, the earlier access will let them spread the pre-orders out across a wider range. That'll help server stability and make for a smoother launch.

As much as I'd love early access, I'm really happy I didn't pre-order. I still have about 50 more pages of research-intensive writing, plus finals, to do before launch. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the game anyway, and this way I'm not tempted.

I'm hoping you all have fun though. Play a little bit harder for me. :)

We'll try not to kill everything before you get there. Good luck with the work, I know how you feel though. Skyrim almost lowered my grades. For now, I'm lucky enough that my exams are done right now.

I'm comparing this game to FFXIV, when that was launched.

The difference is simply astounding. Square Enix should be ashamed.

It's really not all that surprising considering the ego sqeenix has. They haven't changed either, which is sad.

Given the story behind the original final fantasy, perhaps they will release a worthy product in the future.

Not sure why I even care. The Old Republic servers should be up in about 10 minutes.

Giving us no advance notice of when our access begins is kind of ridiculous...I've refreshed my e-mail about 100 times already. Don't they know how stressful this is on everyone! :)

Well, I heard it's basically by the time Friday rolls around anyone who pre-ordered will have access. I only signed up after I tested the beta two weeks ago. So I suspect sometime on Friday I'll be playing.

Likely me too Snieh. Maybe Thursday if I'm lucky, but I work Thursday from 2-10pm so I'd miss out either way.

I wonder what mid-September will get me...the funny thing is I could care less about getting to play early, I just want to lock up my character name ;)

EDIT: If you are curious how your server looks as far as capacity, here's a link to the server status page on SWTOR ^^

Thanks for that Scor. Looks like mine is set at "high" pop right now, but I'm not worried about losing my name. No one ever takes my names lol.

And if all else fails, I'll just name my guy Darthdarthdarth. That way when I unlock the "Darth" title I can be Darth Darthdarthdarth and people who read Catch-22 will crack up at my name.

I wonder if all the full servers are really full or if they are just limiting how many people can sign up for them per day. Like tomorrow all the full ones will become Low again until they reach their "daily limit". If not, then we obviously get new servers as the EA continues - which is what I'm hoping for! Would be cool to start on a brand new server instead of joining one that's been around for a few days :)

Don't forget that guilds are pre-loaded. So everyone who is set up to go with a guild is most likely adding to that population.
