I was doing Overwatch Keep as a duo with my daughter on Monday. We had a great time with the place but had several instances of treant mobs that were invisible to one or both of us. We could kill them but then the person who could not see the corpse could not loot it. At least you couldn't click on it - I didn't see if there was a /loot command like EQ.
On one occasion I saw the mob but it vanished as soon as combat started.
fwiw we were playing side by side so I could see the mob on her screen and vice versa. Two very different machine specs with different settings and graphics.
Is this a known glitch or a conspiracy to deny me all that lovely grey loot?

Every once in a while I'll come across a mob that is just a red name on the ground. I can target it with the tab key but I can't actually see the mob itself. I've never had a problem with being unable to see mob corpses, but I know the game has sometimes struggled with ATI cards and that the devs are still working to iron out various hardware incompatibility issues.
If it turns out to be a consistent issue for you, you could submit a bug report in-game or try posting on the tech support boards on Trion's Rift forums. Beyond that, it's just a "wait and see" kind of thing.

It seems like it's an issue with rendering the mob. If you get far enough away and go back, it'll try to render it again--usually successfully. You'll then be able to loot the corpse.

Sometimes the game wont let me select anything with my mouse, so I have to reset the game then it plays fine. It sounds to me like Rift may have a few glitches here and there. Try reseting the game and see what happens. Good luck.
I've had a couple drop under the ground, but never any issues with the corpse.
The me that you know is now made up of wires.
