Kirby Krackle is giving their "Vault 101" song away for free on their page in honor of this announcement. Nerd rock band, mileage will vary. Also internet, free mp3. Pure sentiment.

People are dumb.

I'm a little disappointed that they're STILL staying with the brown, brown and grey landscape pallet. They could set FO5 in the Amazon Basin and it would likely be a brown blasted plain with some brown dead grass and grey sticks poking up.

I've only ever played New Vegas, and that was cut short 30 hours in by bugs that increased lag to make the game unplayable. That said, New Vegas was AWESOME. I'm looking forward to this one Smiley: grin

Was that on PC or console? All Bethesda games seen to run for crap on consoles.

With the Summer sale season starting up I'm sure you could find copies of FO3 and NV GotY edtions for next to nothing the next couple of months...

PC. I think I had a few mods installed to spice up the game. Things went well for the first 20 or so hours, and then they started lagging like crazy whenever I entered a building or accessed the inventory. The radio would also randomly turn on and off. It was bizarre. I tried some workarounds (can't recall what at the moment) and they would fix it for only a few minutes at a time.

I might just uninstall the whole thing and reinstall it fresh without mods to see how it goes. I had a lot of fun playing it Smiley: grin

You sure it wasn't Silent Hill?

That's odd. Usually the "Lags to unplayable levels 20+ hours in" is a console thing. At least, that's the general criticism I saw for the PS3 versions when buying FO3 & NV for my kid. FO3 for PC still has that stupid multicore processor issue which is an easy fix but inexusable that Bethesda hasn't done the fixing. On the other hand, Skyrim for PS3 was nigh unplayable at launch for all its bugs. At least on PC you have a fighting chance of finding a fix/mod when your game is buggy crap.

Steam has the Fallout series on sale as a Weekend Deal. FO3 GOTY is $12 if you can't wait for the sale price.

$12 seems high for such an old game... or is it just me?

If you have never played it that's 100+ hours of awesome atmospheric open world goodness for $12. I may be biased though, loved FO3 to death. Played it about 4-5 times through now. My buddy at work saw the FO4 announcement and immediately started a new game. Prolly his 5th or 6th.

It's "worth" $12 but it's definitely been on sale for cheaper before.

Lots of info about it now.

The whole customizable town looks interesting. And the weapon/armor modding in game seems almost overwhelming.

I just went ahead and fixed that for you.

The weapon and armor modding was the best thing I've seen so far from the game. I'm sure the best mods will require hard to get parts, but still, I love the idea.

So did you think it strange when it showed you walking up to a house, pressing a button, and the "house" was in your inventory ready to have it's rooms deconstructed and laid out in a new pattern for your new home?

(Also, spam bump)
