I hope this is the right forum but couldn't figure a better fit.

Just about a week ago I got into the Lord of the Rings LCG and so far I'm really enjoying it. Anyone other here that plays this?

For those curious: The LotR card game functions similar to Magic the Gathering in some respects and vastly differs in others. You also play with a customized deck and many of the rules seem familiar if you played MtG (or most other TCG/CCG for that matter). The main difference would be that you don't play against each other. You either play alone or with up to three other players against a deck of 'evil' cards that represent Saurons forces. That enemy deck is not controlled by a player but simply acts due to the instructions printed on the cards.
The difficulty depends on the scenario that is played. Some are very easy, some are extremely difficult and everything in between.

One thing I like about it is that when assembling the cards the player does not rely on luck (like it is when you open your shiny new MtG booster only to have it contain an unplayable crap rare) but when you buy the Coreset or any expansion it will contain every card that is associated with it. What bothers me a bit is that it doesn't always contain the maximum amount of each card you'd need to optimize your decks.
That would be the single biggest flaw I have encountered yet with this game. There are others (like Lore inconsistencies, unclear rules where you have to consult the online FAQ) but since I have yet to find the perfect game I won't complain too loudly.

Does the "L" stand for licensed, limited, or lesbian?

LCG should stand for Living Card Game. But at least one of your suggestions has a far greater appeal to me. Smiley: blush

Didn't realize you were so into licenses.
