Bioshock InfiniteFollow

Call me spoiled as well, but I can't justify paying anything if I'm not sure I'm going to get 100hrs+ out of it. There's too much good free or *free stuff out there these days for me to justify the money, and the old games keep stacking up. Things like the PS2 era Final Fantasy games get a play through every couple of years, just to pick an example.

Just finished the game, the ending was good but also kind of ****** up. SpoilerThe illusion of choice in the game was a nice kick in the nuts, considering the past two games.

Simply put, you only use the weapons that the enemies mainly use which are machine guns, shotguns, and the RPG. Then just scavenge ammo from their cold dead hands pockets.

It takes 2+ headshots to take down normal mobs with the Golden pistol. I shudder to think what its going to take to kill a handyman. And the mobs stumble around a lot more, making them harder to hit >.<

Also, I thought the kicking you to the main menu if you run out of $ in 1999 mode, post death, would mean starting from the beginning again. It doesn't. So if you want to have all the money you had before you died, just die some more until it kicks you to the menu & restart from your last checkpoint with full money. Then, try not to die again.

There's been some differences in this playthrough as well in Battleship Bay relating to the decision whether to throw the ball at the couple or not (still dunno what happens if the time runs out though), not having Fink's guy show up (I got his gear reward from someone else), & dialogue relating to choosing a different necklace for Elizabeth (but that one's an obvious difference as I chose the cage this time).

Yeah, I actually said "oh honey, didn't you read the end of that one?" It's like the folks who think Wuthering Heights is a love story when it's a "everything goes terrible because of obsession and revenge and people being terrible people" story.

SpoilerExcept no part of Les Miserables remotely hinted that things were better for the people following the failed revolt. It's not a question of how bad war is, the revolution in Les Mis just completely and unambiguously failed.

I figure she just got bored during one of the long-*** sections dedicated to the manufacture of jet buttons or Hugo's thoughts on the viability of night soil as a means of feeding the growing population of Paris and just never finished the book

More charitably, it was two only partially related thoughts that just happened to sound amusing together. "A revolution just like in Les Mis", stop, "They're going to have better lives", stop.

And finished. 19 hours for me, that does include some long pauses while I was playing and doing some spring cleaning yesterday.

Well worth the money. Still kind of processing how I feel about the ending. Enjoyable ride though for sure, I can see myself playing it again and forcing myself away from my weapon and vapor comfort zone a bit. I have a tendency never to be without a sniper rifle once I get my hands on one and anything that could be crowed I dun crowed it.

The only part of the game that kind of fell short for me was the bit withSpoiler the 3 tears and the dead mother. The pacing was just off. I felt like that part had far too much needless backtracking and directional stupidity.

Other than that I had a ton of fun. Will try 1999 mode for sure at some point.

I finished in about twelve hours, but I missed ten or so recordings and five videos/telescopes. Once I got my hands on a hand cannon, I pretty much never put it down. Crows and a hand cannon is a quick way to take care of a crowd. One part I didn't care for was the bit near the end where Spoiler you're in the future, looking for Elizabeth and you would get mobbed by those weird mask wearing freaks if you got spotted by that creature with the horns on it's head. The entire game up to that point is pretty much a straight forward fire fight, but you really had to sneak around in that area, which didn't really work for me.

SpoilerI actually killed the first couple rooms full of them and was grumbling about my dwindling ammo before it occurred to me to sneak past. I didn't find it too hard, just a matter of timing and ducking.
