Was going about town today and figured I'd stop by Gamestop to see if they had anything interesting.

I saw Disgaea 3 and 4 on sale (17 dollars each) so I figured I'd buy them. Popped them in to make sure they worked (used games) and each one has a patch available. Disgaea 3 is a roughly 500mb patch, and 4 was around 1.8GB.

Took about an hour to download 3, and currently am about 30% in on disgaea 4's patch and it still says 200+ minutes.

Say what you will about Xbox Live, but man PSN is slow...

You still have the defualt HD in (5400rpm) and Im going to guess you have the original fat PS3, and maybe wireless?

The Wireless on the fat PS3's was crap, the HD's are 5400 rpm, I upgraded it to a 7400 rpm one I got from a crappy old laptop. Wired speeds up downloads ALOT, and the HD was a decent upgrade/slightly noticeable. If SSD ever get stupid cheap Ill toss one of those in there and see what happens.

I'm one part ok with updates to fix imbalances bugs in the game but I hear ya its annoying when you just want to play your game. I wish there was a way to put in on hold and download it overnight while you play the game. Kind of like how Playstation Plus does auto downloading at night.

Also FREE internet play> double dipping me to use my own internet connection.
