I just always feel so naked and defenseless using two-handed weapons. A shield has obvious (immense) utility. Having magic in one hand has utility, additional damage, and the ability to dictate range. Etc.

The same is true of DW I suppose.

How do you manage a companion's gear/inventory?Never mind, didn't see the option initially.

I'm betting my most-used shout will be Strun Bah Qo Storm Call--Storm, Wrath, Lightning.

I'm hot for housecarl. Also shouting is so fun.

The Jarl's advisor was all like: "Do you really think he is dragonborn?" So I shouted him into the wall to show him what was up. Unfortunatly the Jarl and all his guards were not nearly as amused by that as I was.

Maybe, next time, you just use the slow time or dash shouts. :P

Am I the only one who uses the dash on cooldown when I'm wandering through the wilderness?

Also, digg, where did you find part 3 of Unrelenting Force? I'm only up to FUS RO. I've only gotten as far as visiting the Greybeards, though.

I was the the College of Winterhold, and a dragon attacked. One dragon vs eight mages was pretty hilarious.

I doubt it. If I had played enough to have it, I probably would be too.

Horses are confusing me. I bought one, and got off it to go do a dungeon. The manual says that after fast-traveling to a city, that the horse will be at the stables.

Well, it's there, but it's apparently not mine anymore. Hovering the pointer over it says "Steal".

I'm not going to be very happy if I'm out 1,000 gold for nothing.

This just in:

Ima werewolf now! Rawr

and also my house is purty and well decorated tyvm.

I haven't even talked to the greybeards yet. I'm having to much fun exploring and doing side missions in Whiterun. But I'm not in a hurry. Spending many hours just enjoying everything. Like crafting my own flaming sword for example, and smithing in general.

Back to it!

Did you try fast traveling back to the initial location, just to confirm he wasn't left behind? I'd say do it, and try to head to a different city to see if that changes things.

I like how everything is actually used in this game. Oblivion, you'd kill a bear, pick up this 10 lb pelt that... was absolutely useless. Of course, this just means storage space is all the more valuable.

That's why one of the first things I did was save up for a house so I could have a storage chest for my crafting materials. I'm a big Nord with allot of stamina but it's amazing how much weight that stuff was just leaching until I dumped it in my storage chest at home.

Now when I go dungeoning I can carry out lots more shiny loot to sell.

Yeah, I know the first thing I need to do is buy a house. I'm SUCH a pack rat in games. Without storage? Yeesh.

Let alone the fact that I'm going to want to get my skills up there, which means diversity in gear sets and weaponry.

The moment I saw dragon bones were weighed 15 and dragon scales weighed 10, I saved up 5000g to buy my house. Of course, not a moment later, some npc marked Azura's Shrine on my map and I knew exactly what I had to do next!

Yeah, I tried that a bit. Didn't change anything, but I think I found the problem. I ended up just "stealing" the horse, but it didn't register as being stolen. I think it's just a glitch, or incorrect text.

Wait the Daedra shrines are in this game? I haven't even seen anything about them yet. I need to find that.

One thing I love about playing a game like this right when it comes out is that there's so many surprises, and you can't really find out much beforehand. It's kind of like playing an MMO on launch date - there's always a chance you'll stumble upon something nobody's seen yet.

Even the wiki is still really sparse. I went to look up a boss for a quest I was doing in a lighthouse where a family was slaughtered (That place was hard at my level, too. Freaking Chauruses) and they didn't even have an entry for the quest.

Sidenote: That quest is worth doing, just for the permanent +10% to healing spells buff it gives you. It's a lighthouse I found on my way to Winterhold.

Did you need to buy the chest cause I just bought a house and it's empty... well except for the spiderweb. I looked at the furniture book but there's no mention of a chest, only some shelves with the alchemy lab and the kitchen.

Upstairs, next to the bed, there is a chest that you can use without buying any extras. Storing items then upgrading will not cause you to lose them (unless there is a glitch? I kept my items anyway).

I think just about all of the upgrades will add storage chests, which is useful since chests are not categorized, you only see everything inside of it. The most expensive one is the Alchemy Lab at 500g, the rest are 250-300g.

This is the Whiterun house, I don't know if there are other houses.

It depends on the house, I think. I bought the one in Whiterun and it came with a chest on the second floor.
