Had a productive day in Ur today; managed to complete Bureaucratic Arts I, get my papers, buy a 50k McMansion, move in, set up my trophies, and eventually get 10 piggies in there! I also learned Gardening I (because it took only 22ish minutes Smiley: grin), and then got back to Better Learning V, which will be done tomorrow night. Then it'll be more Gardening and Croppery, followed by alchemy, refining, and intermediate admixing for potions, and then perhaps tinkering. Finally crafting comes after, and maybe the transmogrification skills.

I have no interest in starting street programs, writing notes, using my eyeballs, fighting off the rook, or levitating, so those will likely be last. Not sure where teleportation will fit in; my mansion is a bit out of the way.

I have Teleport 3. One point set to my house, a second set to Northwest Passage outside the Egg trees, and another set to Ix for Spice plants. So I can quickly grab them all when ever I want.

I started making Earthshakers this morning. Eggs, Fruit, Spice. Everything I normally harvest. I just need to get beer.

I can't make the hot sauce yet. And I don't really intend to get Saucery II until after I get Remote Herdkeeping.

After that, I'll probably focus on upgrading my house--to both a better location and size. Right now, I'm super far away from any ore, which means I need to teleport to and from mines. That's a serious annoyance...

I really wish watering your plants gave you an experience bonus. Especially considering my glitch can't handle such a simple task and regularly spills water everywhere...

It does if you get Croppery, doesn't it? I haven't done Croppery yet, but will be once I finish BL 5, and finish my Cooking tree. I have noticed I get about 10-15% failures on watering/picking things. And that 28 plots in the 50k home is pretty nice. I also want to use my Wood Tree to start getting batterfly guano for fertalizing them.

And I thought Croppery only gave exp for harvesting?

People seem to like my Earthshakers. Made 50 of them and put them up for auction, they went pretty fast.

Been growing Spinach too, just because I didn't know what sort of vegetables sold, but the Spinach is used for jumping.

Donated up to 1000+ on the three giants for BL5, and sucked about 6 hours off the learning time. Did the same last game day... Still so much time left. 2 days 18 hours.

I wonder how much time I'll be able to drop off of it tomorrow, another 12 hours or if I'll hit the cap soon.

Did my first smuggling quest today. Succeeded and got a Diamond.

You will never get more than half the initial amount of time through donating; and I've also heard (but have not confirmed) that if you switch skills during a "speed up" time, you -lose- the sped up time and can no longer donate to speed that skill up again. Not sure if that's true; the only time I've switched skills is when the speed-up time is off (and I never had problems donating again after switching back).

The skill page tells you that you'll lose the speed boost.

Some people explained in the Global chat the other day that you don't lose the time you earned, but you lose the ability to earn more time.

So if you reduced it 10%, then stopped learning, the started learning again, 10% is the max, you won't be able to reduce it anymore with favor.

This was probably their way of stopping people from "pausing" a maxed out favor boosted skill, then starting it again and trying to get another favor boost from the new time.

Alright, so my biggest question is this - is this just an MMO version of facebook games like farmville, etc.? Or is there more to it?

I never played Farmville itself, but other facebook games work basically the same way - you build and plant stuff, and can harvest the results after a defined period of time (or make it go faster by spending money), which give you resources that let you build more stuff. There is little to no interaction of anything besides planting and harvesting and building. I have to assume that there's more interaction and active stuff to do (even if there's no combat) in this game?

you guys getting your money from quests, or are you selling the goods you make? I've been donating every thing i make and wasnt sure if i needed to sell some stuff too.

In that case, no, it's not like Farmville. It does have similar aspects (growing crops in your house; by the way I just harvested a few hundred potatoes this morning), but you have a lot of interaction with the environments and other people.

Say you come to a random street. It has 2 fruit trees, 2 bean trees, a piggie, and a chicken.

Well, f*ck the trees. You poison them all, and replace them with gas trees because you love to make people on the forums rage at how useless gas is (it is pretty useless). Also, you steal the piggy, because you want to take it home. But you feel bad that the chicken is all alone, so you make it hatch a dozen butterfly eggs, grow the butterflies up, and swarm the sky with them.

As a final FU to the street that you obviously hate, you throw random litter all over the ground and set off Sneezing Powder, making everyone on the street attempting to stop your madness burst into uncontrollable sneezes every few seconds.

At lower levels (under 20) you get some currants every time you level. I had maybe 30k by the time I got to my 20s, just through leveling. After that point you only get currants every 5 levels, so it might be worth selling some stuff instead of donating.

I personally don't buy much now that I have my McMansion, but if I need some extra cash I'll squeeze chickens to get music boxes or mine for gems. Both sell well to vendors. If you craft you can sell stuff on the Auction House for decent money as well.
