Is it posible to get infected my a diferent type of were while hunting for your were animal. because i was talking to a guy and he said the reason i havent been infected yet is because i problay was infected by something else.

ive been hunting rats and theres been bears and i killed the bears to get rats to spawn.

ive also heard you cant get infected if you dont have tail quest loged yet but I dont know which is true.

my question is am im screwed if i got infected by somethnig else or is it just taking awhile to get infected?

Could be either. No telling really until you log the quest.

I'm almost positive they fixed the infect bug that was troubling all the hunters in the past, Now you can ONLY get infect from the were u got the tail quest logged for.

You need to do werebear quest and see if you get the pop up. It is possible to get infected by accidently killing 1 were that you do not want. Sony has stated to beware of what you kill if you do get infected by bear and you dont want it do the quest and take the cure potion and restart rat

Yeah and if u take the cure potion they even throw in a nifty spell.

What does it do exactly and where you get it at?

I belive you get the Silver Potion, a curative for Lycanthropy after you get the infection pop-up. When you return you are asked to verify if you wish to become the Lycan that you are carrying the infection for. If you choose not to you can simply use the potion, then start on the quest you wish to do.

The easiest way to check for a cross infection should be to simply head to Oasis and try to log the hunter quest. From what I hear once you obtain infection you will be turned away from logging it, though if anyone here can verify that, I tried for a while, checking every time before going to check for infection, but gave up after 2 months, then got gator a little while later. Obviously I can't log it now, but does it turn you away if you haven't gained form or gotten the pop-up yet?

Send a mail to support and you'll probably get the same response I recieved long ago after three months of farming gatorweres 12 hours a day almost non-stop. You must just be really unlucky.
