Why do players cluster in Gold Shire and just stand there with no game play going on?

Like most people, I hang out in Goldshire to meet women. I'm sure that long time posters here will never forget that time in 2008, when I met that Night Elf who turned out to be a lapsed Serbian nun who turned to pole dancing to fight her feelings of having been repressed. That month in Belgrade was killer, she could put down shots of plum brandy like it was water. Good grilled meat, and I liked the local cheese. Everything was great until that drinking contest on the night train to Sofia. Waking up the next day with a hangover was nothing to trying to explain to the conductor why I was naked, tied up in bed and unable to produce a passport or ticket. Fortunately, I was able to get most of the credit card charges straightened out. I swore that I'd stop hanging out in Goldshire after that, but you guys remember what happened to me next summer. Yeah, the Gnome with pink hair. I'm never going to live that one down.

It's a big game of telephone usually. Everyone passes whispers around in the circle and they see if it's still the same thing when the message gets back to the first person. Smiley: nod

Aside from that it's probably the best place to get to know your fellow players. Everyone stops there at some point early in their WoW playing days, so you do get to meet all kinds of people. You send a tell to some one to say hi, and before you know it you get to talking. Simple whispers turn into deep in depth conversations about politics, life, and purpose as people get to know each other. Before you know it you're running around Azeroth laughing and having the time of your life with this random person you just met. For the record there's nothing more magical than riding off on your Mechanostrider down the coast of Westfall along side a special friend. The sun is setting over the horizon, the shimmering light gets reflected back off the water, highlighting your pink pigtails with a crimson glow. The first cool breezes of evening blow in and you know it's going to be a spellbinding night.

Goldshire is where people hang out before they're invited into the secret vault under Ironforge. I still remember my first day going to the vault. I was really in character. I snorted illusion dust off of a couple of Night Elf cabana boys and woke up on a roof in Orgrimmar wearing nothing but a set of Defias leggings, a bra and a smile.

At some point during the night, I managed to respec to druid and do their flight quest. I still have the orb thingy you need to summon the extra boss in Sethekk Halls. Until they nerfed it, I was possibly the only mage on any legit server capable of doing so. Don't believe me?

Goldshire is the gateway to the Deeprun Tram, but to get there, you need to find the Magical Tram Gnome. You can find him somewhere in Goldshire - often dancing on the mailbox, or upstairs inside the inn - and once you do, you just need to give him the right passphrase and some gold, and he'll take you to the Deeprun Tram.

What happens after that will change you forever. Trust me. Smiley: crymore

Where else am I going to make all my gold? Whispersex is a big business. PSA: the passphrase for the Magic Tram Gnome is, "Once upon a unicorn's dream."
Just be ready to read the most epic text someone at WoW has ever written. It will truly change you.
I also sell a lot of yao there as well.
Look it is a good town to make gold in.

See, you guys are never going to let me live it down. Come on, her pictures were really hot and her friend was cute too. Sure, in retrospect I should have been more suspicious about anyone who plays a Gnome with pink pigtails, but pretty much everything I knew about Thailand back then could be summed up as "pad Thai is good".
