Weekly Goals and Accomplishments 7/25 - 8/1Follow

#1 Jul 25 2014 at 7:30 AM Rating: Excellent
It's the end of July. What do you hope to do in the next week?

1. Let's get WAR to 40. I found I had capped out myth tomes this week and in a fit of silly I spent it all on WAR relic. I hope that by the time I hit 50, I'll be able to hit iLvl 90 as soon as I finish my relic. I already have the Axe of Crags waiting for me to get me through the relic quest.

2. Spam CT1 some more because I still don't have a crimson body and I'm locked out of ST til next week thanks to my UAT.

3. Start on my i70 weapon for goldsmithing. It's going to be painful and expensive but... well, gil need to be used for SOMETHING.

4. Hopefully I get lucky and get at least one Bloody Log.

Edit: Time travel.

They just opened the Destiny Beta so I'll be checking that out some. I also have watchdogs from Gamefly which I've yet to play a all.

My wife's out of town the whole weekend though so if I log in i guess I'll try Levi and Mog a couple times. Maybe turn 5 and ST. Oh and I need to clear the story difficulty for Ramuh.

Speaking of other games, XI is going to get the Armory System. Or something almost like it. Still won't replace GearSwap in utility but GS will no longer feel necessary for wardrobe management.

I have to do AK and Pharos Sirius to finally finish my current Animus Book. Dont really want to, but been capped on myths so they'll go to waste unless i buy a new book.

I'm thinking of getting some more hunts done, i can use the gear from allied seals to gear up my alternative jobs i've been neglecting ever since Darklight levels.

I need to gather a LOT of Wind crystals and gold ore for rings and continue on the desynthing course i've been on. GSM lv.64 now. Want to get it to atleast Darklight levels by the end of the weekend.

I want to catch some of these green fish that have been selling well on my server. And desynth all the ones that arent sellable.

And as always, try and use the weekend to shout for members to revive my FC and/or meet some new friends that way. I havent been out of the Mist even once in weeks >.>

I ran AK on my SCH for getting my relic weapon, so my main goal will be to push through finishing that. It's going to go directly to zenith since I had a lot of myth accumulated.

I'm at BRD 47, so I'll want to work on that.

1. I have the UAT, a sands, and 1000 myth. On tuesday, I am going to zerg hunts as soon as I get off work and hopefully by Tuesday night I will have my 110 blm weapon. Smiley: cool Smiley: grin Smiley: nod

2. I'll probably alternate between frontlines, hunts, and alexandrite maps. 9/56 alexandrite towards curtana animus. I'm 450 seals into my next sand, no luck on hunt logs in a bit, but any progress in that department upgrades my black mage's gear. Thinking I'll get the hat upgrade next (have pants, chest, and two accessories upgraded atm). Saturday morning is the next 36 hour spawn window for the s ranks. I'll have to be up for that, and keep hope alive that most of the spastic kids have to go back to school soon, so they will be preoccupied with homework instead of facepulling every single hunt target. Smiley: glare

3. Next week when I get syrcus tower unlocked I will run it much less often, and will probably settle with an decent upgrade to tank armor as soon as I see it. Smiley: smile

4. I really need to beat turn 6 this weekend with my static. That would be nice. Smiley: nod

5. Get botanist to 50, to round out all the gathering classes, finally. I have not harvested a single thing on botanist since lvl 20 lol. Pretty much went the entire way on grand company daily turn ins, and that is how I plan to finish =D.

HQ Spruce lumber is selling for a mint on my server right now, so me and my BTN and CRP are going on a gilmaking spree all this week. I'd love to break a half mil by Monday. I've been flatass broke since my last attempt at overmelds. I failed 11 times on a 22% Control +2 and still haven't got it since I ran out of gil.

Cap tomes, but that's a given. Daystar legs for SCH by the end of tonight.

Gather a whole lot of clusters and sink my teeth into some 2-star crafting. I've been itching to mass-produce Black Truffle Risotto for a while now.

Get back into ST and resist the temptations of neat armors to go for that danged UAT! Smiley: lol

Good luck! The odds are 30% * 12.5% = 3.75% of you picking it up for each hour you devote (15 min wait + 45 minute run). Looks bleak when you put it that way, but your odds can improve on that 12.5% stat later in the week as less people lot on it. If you are the only one lotting on it, your odds are 30% (30% chance of it dropping * 1/1), if you are competing with one other, it is (30% * 50%) = 15%, and so on.

From my experience, hardly anyone rolls on UAT, especially when there's an Oil that often accompanies it.

That would actually make a whole lot of sense, considering that most people will only ever need one uat per active job that they are playing, and assuming that they arent going for novus on one of those jobs. So let us assume that most people play an average of two jobs that they would consider their main and close second. Each one of those has one weapon and five accessories (and sometimes a shield, which needs oil as well). So uat is actually needed 5 to 6 times less than oil. Get your uat and suddenly oil becomes way more necessary.

Continuing the drudge of gearing up after being gone for a while (at ilevel 70). Do people still run Bahamut Coil 1?

Well Destiny. 'Open' beta gets you to about level 5 and a half with about as many missions. Want more missions or access to the PvP during beta? Upgrade to Playstation Plus. Total play time was about 2 hrs 45 minutes and it was sorta engaging. **** move Sony...buy more gems to make more potions....only $4.99.....for a free beta test. Lol

Weekend update time:
1. Still patiently waiting on Tuesday to zerg my 300 soldiery. Smiley: frown
2. At 15 or 16 of 53 (updated total, I was off by 3) towards the curtana animus. There are only two of the random enemy groups I can not solo. The rock golem + zerging bomb combination is really difficult, as well as the cyclops + hundreds of little plant dudes combination. All others I can roll on summoner with titan egi just fine. Also, got a few more sands over the weekend. Upgraded blm hat and gloves. And they were both hard earned! I haven't seen one log drop in a full week! SE has been giving all my log drops to other people. Those rightfully belong to me, they should know that... Smiley: tongue
3. Wish Monday was Tuesday. Smiley: frown
4. Couple of the members in the static were out so Monday night is the run. Smiley: disappointed
5. The botanist is 3/4 between 49 and 50. Didn't have HQ dart frongs for the turn ins, darn... Smiley: glare
6. Bonus: Finally broke down and rolled out the rest of those HQ gryphonskin straps and got my ltw ilvl 70 tool Smiley: grin

No pants. Probably because I didn't run T4 at all. Funny how that works!

Got Amon pants for BRD. Not what I wanted but I grew tired of doing ST and getting nothing.

Garuda extreme down... Leviathan you are next.

While this was a big goal for a weekend, I did manage to kill the majority of my FC a couple times.

No BLM ring, no i90, sad panda. Should reach that this week with my UAT.

1. Nope. Well, there are still another four days to get this done.
2. Nope. Just didn't feel like it, and also a much less urgent need because I got the Robe of Divine Death in Tamtara HM and I'm no longer running around in a ***** mage outfit.
3. Nope....
5. And this is where I make up for it because of the epic Hunt party I was in yesterday I HAVE ALL THREE BLOODY LOGS ALREADY CONVERTED TO SANDS OF TIME YAY

I need another 600 ish soldiery then I'm set!

Also, by a miracle of the RNG gods, I got two Atma back to back yesterday. I was tired of hunts and had an hour or so before bed, so I started derping around in Central Shroud because another RL friend joined and his newbie archer was there... was hoping to bump into him. Never did see him, but did unexpectedly get Atma of the Maiden off the giant rose at the hedge tree. And then I went to Central Thanalan and got it off the first fate out by the toads. Back to back friggin atma! That's 4/12 now. I pushed my luck and then spent a fruitless 45 minutes in Middle La Noscea. Smiley: rolleyes

- Got my fifth piece of iLevel 110 noct gear after spamming hunts... still need 650 more seals for the last piece, so doubt I'll get that before SE's "adjustment," whatever that may be.
- My fledgling new FC got through Turn 4 and will start hammering away at Turn 5 this week.
- Also, I now have 55/75 Alexandrite needed for Novus, thanks to the deluge of myths from hunts.

ST isn't so bad for Oils/UAT's, I've managed to get one of each in the last 2 weeks (I've only run the dungeon of 5-6 times.) I'm usually only lotting against one or two players, so the odds aren't THAT bad.

I managed to finish my 7th atma book (which I thought was #8, so slightly disappointing). Hopefully can finish the actual 8th one this week. Got myself a couple pieces of i110 through the Oil and Sands from hunts. Other goal is to finally complete T6, I kind of strayed away from endgame for awhile, but tempted to try out again to see if PUGS have progressed with it. People getting i110 gear through hunts and ST should help, though you can't fix stupid, so maybe not.

Last time I did ST, every single piece of gear in my party dropped to the floor because people only wanted oils or UATs.

Maybe I'll give it another shot now, see if it's any different.

I'm also wondering if the "oils" crowd has realized that hunts are far superior to ST. Of course, this may change in the next couple days, but definitely worth giving ST a shot tonight.

They still haven't announced what it is eh...really wish they'd release the info. Then again, they don't want people going crazy if it's a huge nerf or what not. As if people haven't already lost their minds around the whole event...

I think we can be pretty sure they're either going to nerf the hell out of Allied seal rewards, or they're going to buff Mark HP to FATE megaboss levels. People are pissed, and the forums are ablaze 24/7 with complaints about the Hunt system. I've killed a total of 2 marks - one in a party and a B rank that one of my FCmates blundered into while mining.

What irked me was on that B rank. We were duoing it as SMNs and at about 15% or so a party rolled up on us. A PLD actually voked it and tried to run it away and reset it. He only failed because we had tons of hate stacking from DOTs.

People didnt zergfest NMs back in XI because while the rewards could be good, there was enough randomness in the spawn times and drops that you couldn't "make a living at it", as it were. The token system and fixed pop timers makes XIV NMs 100% farmable, so people don't want to do anything else. Every mob is rove-camped worse than Leaping Lizzie.

Didn't really make any plans, but got stuff done anyway.

Spent a few days in East Shroud looking for an atma. Finally got fed up with this, and breezed through some roulettes to finishing Mything out my MNK. Having done that, started out the MNK relic quest and in one night I'm just short the three primals.

Also caught up on a few dungeons hadn't tried yet: cleared Pharos Sirius and Wanderers Palace.

Well there's a solution. Make the spawn windows more random.
