From the quick stab i took at healer its fairly decent at tossing out nukes when the class is on its own, it just doesn't stand up to the DPS of dedicated Pew Pew classes. Besides constantly bashing stuff does get olde.

Whats really shocking is that some people actually like to play bard ... go figure ... spoony bards.

Ah yes, loot systems. One of the many things I hate about current and past MMOs. So glad to see Guild Wars 2 with a new loot system. Oh you participated in something? Grats, you get your own loot based on your level plus xp, karma, and gold.

Loot systems used in FF14, WoW, and all the other current MMOs are archaic.

Maybe I misunderstand, but I take it you are asking what those words mean?
MMOs have their own lingo.

Nuke = Heavy (area-of-attack) ranged attack by magic caster
DPS = Damage Per Second. A measure of damage output from the damage dealers (Damage dealers = everyone except tank, healer, buffer/debuffer)
Bard = Buffer/Support role

I loved playing support in FF11 with my RDM. Since this game has no RDM I may end up playing Bard. But right now I am leveling to be a Monk and Dragoon.

Oh yes, yes! And usually it means the remaining players keep badmouthing the quitter for at least half an hour!
One of the best things about MMOs: they bring back schoolyard memories.

Bards kinda fun, the only problem I have really is positioning since parties are always on the move for XP. I haven't dropped it into any of the endgame stuff, but I'm assuming it's a bit easier to keep separate songs on folks in those situations. I still prefer MNK though.

Well I will most def be playing a Monk and Dragoon, but I figured to get some end game taste I should level a class that can easily experence it.

In order to tele from aethyrite to another, you need to attune your character to the others. So you will literally need to travel and touch the ones you wish to frequent often.

No you can equip a level 50 weapon the first time if you wanted to, it just has to say optimal level instead of required level. Optimal level weapons can be equipped no matter what level you are, they just won't be effective over (I think) 5 levels difference (down, at 50 you can wear a level 1 weapon and it will have full effect, though obviously useless. At 1 you could equip an optimal 50 weapon and it would be worthless stat wise)

Unless this part of the UI has changed since last I played, this should tell you all you need to know about player to player trading.
