Seriously thinking of moving to WAR...Follow

Except, I've been thinking the same. I just finished Dawn of War 2 + expansion again and after playing some Mark of Chaos, I really feel like diving headfirst into the Warp.

Seems like Mythic is pooling resources to keep the game afloat. European servers are being shut down and moved to the US servers, or something. Upon reactivating my trial account, I got a note about server transfers and such.

Seriously, this game looks exactly like it did two years ago. It also acts just as shoddy as I remember it, with 1-2 seconds of interface lag, making PvP unbearable and PvE embarrassingly silly to look at.

I've got mobs rubberbanding all over the screen, delayed animations and audio sequences (a corpse just moaned at me as I ran past it!).

I thought they fixed that lag ages ago, or at least in the two years I haven't been playing. Thank god I decided to use the trial before subscribing again. Sorry, Mythic, I really want to like this game, but the lag is killing it.

And before anyone goes on about how they're playing with no lag, I assure you I'm not the only one. I did a Region check earlier and several people responded that it's happening to them as well.

I've given it a shot now and it's not so bad. Maybe it's because T2 is dead and the lag comes from the amount of characters in T1. In any case, it's bearable in T2 and presumably onwards.

Dusted off my old subscription, did some questing on my Chosen and he's now R16 RR11. Nothing like grinding five ranks of Renown while trying to avoid ranking out of the gear you need the Renown for.

Despite the various flaws that make the game look like a beta build some two years into release, it's actually pretty captivating. Like I mentioned earlier, I love the Warhammer universe and after playing Dawn of War and Mark of Chaos, I really wanted to stay there. So far the Chosen is the one that appeals to me. Always did want to play one of those huge, ironclad Chaos warriors as seen in the Mark of Chaos intro cinematic.

The Ravage + Twister combo is kinda not so fun, though it does open up for a lot of "fun abilities" in PvP (or RvR, whatever you guys call the scenarios). While my Black Orc was busy trying to keep track of his Plans (hopeless when you need to use some random ability just to unlock the ability you need), my Chosen just jumps in with Twister, spams Ravage until stuff dies and then punts a random Shadow Warrior (because I hate them) off a ledge and into the abyss.

The lag is still horrible and it gets worse when multiple people are gathered, which is just bad for a game that lives off of player versus player combat. Maybe it's because I'm European and the overseas connection is crap. It doesn't make much sense, though, since I get less latency on Badlands (NA server) than on the various European servers I've tried.

Not sure if I'll subscribe to another month. The game still feels way too much like it did it beta, not to mention at release. It's generally a very unpolished game considering the time it's been out.

Might just keep me captivated until Cataclysm, Guild Wars 2, Dragon Age 2 or The Witcher 2 is launched.

Hey Mazra, Hope you're still enjoying War. It's a good game cept the Badlands server doesn't work very well atm. It might just be a t4 issue though.

I understand Mara's are getting some lovin' from the devs.
