Returning after 8 months - painful experienceFollow

I want to love this game, I really do, but I just can't.

The horrible server-client lag and the fact that global cooldowns are triggered even if you can't perform the attack just makes me angry. I spent 30 seconds running around after a ranged class, trying to snare him, but without luck since he could snare me from a distance. At one point I was running next to him, but apparently only on my screen, because I couldn't hit him. It's the exact same issue I had eight months ago.

I've played World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Star Wars Galaxies, Matrix Online, Lord of the Rings Online and EverQuest without latency issues so I really don't get why I'm getting it here. It feels like I'm playing on a server located on another continent.

Meh, I guess those €13 was a waste, but I had to see if they'd managed to pull their heads out of their asses in eight months. Apparently not.

Yeah, the lag is frustrating sometimes. There have supposedly been 'fixes' to reduce lag, but it's still pretty bad if there are many people in the area. Funny, as the low-quality graphics are certainly not eating up the bandwidth.

Despite the choppiness, I play daily. An evening spent taking/defending forts/keeps, and the rapid-fire slide-show graphics that go along with it, may leave me with a headache - something I've never really been prone to, nor have ever experienced due to gaming. But no other game, so far, provides the pvp content that War does.

I play on Praag (US orvr server). It is one of the busier servers, but not overly crowded for the content and size of the world.

Really the lag is only bad for me, when I'm in REALLY busy areas. But, since most gearing up is done through keep/fort taking, and fort/keep taking requires tons of people, the lag is unavoidable.

I have returned since yesterday...
