So I hear there are still some people who don't have a computer "able to run FFXI" or think they don't. I saw this great deal today and figured I'd let anyone who needed a computer know about it:

That's your entire computer, though there's a chance you might need a separate video card (since FFXI is so CPU intensive the onboard card might be too slow) so try this:

Then you'll need to find a monitor, any old thing will do, though.
Once you take on the rebate the computer + card will cost you $100 + monitor cost. And should run FFXI absolutely fine.

christ that computer costs less than it's operating system...
Basically, if you are in America and you don't have a home computer... this is worth it. Even the windows install alone costs more than this computer.

After the dropping of Windows XP support, can you even find a Windows PC for sale that is unable to run FFXI that isn't a DOS box?

What? FFXI still runs on XP. It's Windows 2000 that SE dropped support for.

I believe his comment was about how since they only sell windows 7 and above computers now anything you buy will be FFXI-capable. Though the point of this post is the price, really.

Dude, I ran FF11 flawlessly 10 years ago on some generic eMachines PC from BestBuy. This really isn't an issue anymore, lol.

With an 80GB hard drive, anybody who buys that computer should not expect to be able to install much beyond FFXI. Also, since it's a Hewlett-Packard, they shouldn't expect it to last more than a year tops before it burns out and becomes a paper weight. Still, at that price, as others have pointed out, it's cheaper than the operating system that comes with it...
