You may have seen the news story about it , it being the concept of leveling up faction to be loved (as much as one can) in both East and West Cabilis.

Short version: kill sarnaks, goblins & outcast Iksars enough to approach Trooper Mozo in Field of bone. Give him 1000s of bone chips. This maxes all Cabilis factions except the necro guild.

Necromancer guild is Brood of Kotiz . When I made the news story, there was only about 3 number entries for NPC/quests on the page. I've updated a bunch since, though I am maxed with Legion of Cabilis so basically all of the entries with multiple faction hits are missing that one.

Furthermore, I keep running into outcast Iksars that no one ever reported faction for (3 in Lake of Ill Omen today). No faction numbers for old content is expected, no known faction at all for Kunark NPCs is surprising.

I've made progress grinding Brood of Kotiz with the +1 per kill hits (highest I have found so far) and have done the first two steps of the necromancer skullcap quest with my rogue of all things. Second step was a +10 hit to Brood of Kotiz, making it the largest known hit so far. I'm not sure how much further my rogue with get with those quests as I am hitting the stage where I need several tradeskills (haven't done any on the character and it is on progression so no easy freebies) and it results in items I can't use...

Also, it's a lot easier to do the necromancer skull cap quests with tracking. (And a lot more logical to do them on a necromancer).

So that is the story, here is the point... we need the following:

-Someone to kill the known NPC on the Brood of Kotiz faction list that have no numbers listed and report those.

-Someone to screenshot the NPC from the open worlds zones in Kunark like Lake of Ill Omen that have no screen shot currently. When you look at the NPC list by zone, ones with a pic will have a little green and white icon to the left of their name in the list. Warsliks Woods, Swamp of No Hope, and Field of Bone would be most specifically tied to this "faction with Cabilis" idea.

-Someone with tracking to go into the above-mentioned zones and do a full tracking check. Do we have all the NPC existing on live? Are they the same on TLP? (Shouldn't be much change here).

-Someone to recheck the various quests that give any Cabilis faction as we are missing the numbers for most of them. Maybe there is a more effective way than the bone chips quest (if you ignore the ease of buying stacks of 100 and handing them in) by size of the hits? Brood of Kotiz so far it is faster to just kill bandits in Warsliks, but maybe the not reported quests get better (it looks like skullcap ranks may).

Lastly, under the factions (Brood of Kotiz, Legion of Cabilis, etc.) it would be helpful if people reported their race/class/deity and the max standing in /con after getting to maxed faction. For example my drakkin necromancer (Veeshan) was maxed for all of these factions and iirc only ended in dubious? (May of been higher, it was 8 years ago). An Erudite SK (Cazic Thule) should have a different result.

Update... did the somewhat painful tradeskill grind to improve my chances with Skullcap #3. Found out many, many posts about getting the quest items for #3 are full of bogus theories. Mostly painful due to having to use several cities for the vendor mats to raise brewing, smithing & tailoring. Not clear how many of the combines in the quest can be failed, but people report a lot of issues in the past. If you spend 4 hours getting a drop you don't want to fail the combine.

There is a clear pattern with the Necromancer skullcap quests so far in that the NPC you need to kill are stratified by level and located most efficiently is specific areas close to Cabilis. So beware reading the old posts as some people clearly didn't see this pattern and spent a lot of time killing in not ideal spots for some spawns (or places they don't really spawn at all).

Unfortunately from a faction standpoint, #3 is only a +10 faction hit. As well, #3 has the sneaky trick of a quest combine that is temporary... so don't make the combine until you have everything needed!

I'm back to killing bandits for a bit, as that is much faster faction per hour than doing skullcap 1-3. Once I'm out of amiable with Brood of Kotiz I have some more detective work to do.

I am "warmly" as a DE with this faction, which is the max. I did this faction work too long ago to be of any help at this point. I did do skull caps 1-3 also. All I have to add is once you are somewhere within "amiable" you can quickly max faction by simply hailing and repeating the phrase "I am a great sorcerer" to an iksar hermit in a side tunnel by the LIO zone out of west cabilis.

Yeah, I did the hermit method years ago. I'm basically working amiable right now to prove it [the hermit's factioning] still functions, as we have posts arguing it both ways. Right now he still tells me off (go prove myself sort of line).

So...does the sarnak with the brain needed for #3 spawn at/near the fallen pillar northwest of the lake or no? On Phinny I have yet to get him.Smiley: mad

I pulled my Ranger lvl 57 and cleared everything around the Explorer's Tower (+1700, +440, +109) for about 25 minutes killing Skellies, Cats, Goblins.

When 2 Sarnak Crypt Raiders popped at the same time west of he Explorer Tower both were in the same spot taking aggro from a Goblin Battlemaster. Spawn point was (+1903,+1904,+109) if you have downloaded maps from Mapfiend go to the Explorer Tower and pop your map.

Killed the West side of "explorer tower" for about 25 minutes, got two Sarnak Crypt Raiders pops within a minute of each other. Both dropped the brain.

There was also a high level camping something else near the explorer tower that sent me tells for several more Sarnak Crypt Raider spawns in the next hour as he knew I had been looking for the NPC.

Confirmed:

once you are high enough in amiable, the Hermit will give you +1 faction to Brood of Kotiz for every "great sorcerer" you say (so use your 5 lines of hotkey).

He gave me the hilt in the 40s with only first 3 ranks of skullcap done. I doubt there are any invisible flags aside from being "high amiable".

agnostic wood elf rogue tops out at warmly.
