Specifics of the Quarm server are found on our news page or you can go direct to the source at the official boards .

I'm personally not very interested in racing to kill a raid target. But... the event is more than that and it sounds like you earn rewards for various stages of the OoW progression.

What actually has me more interested is the level 51 with 50 AA, pregeared and skilled head start. I loved this about the Mayong Server as you can test drive a class past the 1-40 grind I have already done a zillion times. The max skill aspect is huge to me. When event 1 is done the characters are moved to a new server with standard rules. So I guess it is smart to roll all your 51/50 characters early and do what you can. I'd probably start over on a new regular server anyways as I am getting sick of classic-Velious on progression servers with slow XP rates.

While it is in event 1 mode on Quarm though, you have true box code in effect, FV loot code which may be helpful (could be toxic hard to say) and the majority of the server likely focused on the OoW content that is the event focus.

I'll be making all of the classes I never get leveled past 40 to maximize the value of this. I really enjoy the 55-70 game and haven't been drawn in by the heroic character "newbie start" to get me into the upper level modern game.

Anyone else going to try Quarm?

Short answer: No, I just don't see the benefit for a level 80 that just returned after a long absence.

Long answer:
I'm the type that has a heavy investment in the main character I've had for 15+ years, I'm not an alt person. So, if I were to start on Quarm, once it was over that character would be a throw away for me, I would never play it again. Which means the only benefit I could get from it is the rewards for my main character. I looked at the rewards and they are just not worth it to me:
1) The vanity hat and title are certainly not worth it, imo.
2) The mount is neat looking, but not worth me burning 3 months on a character I'll never play again.
3) The 500AA is nice, I suppose, if you need that many AA... but I'm still only level 80 and have Auto-Grant turned on, so I'm not even sure it would let me hold that many. And even if it did, I don't have anything to spend it on right now.
4) The raid currency may be nice, but I have no clue as to what that really gets me, as I left well before this "progression content" concept came about, and honestly I have no desire to deep dive into yet another facet of EQ that I've never seen, I'm too loaded with those as is. Perhaps I'm missing out on something here, but I don't feel like investigating.
5) The portal brazier may be nice, but honestly travel between home cities is already pretty easy, and the 10 hour recast make sit yet another item that would just sit in my inventory and I would forget to use.

No interest whatsoever. I have way to many chars as it stands. What I really should be doing is deleting seldom used chars.

No interest in doing any kind of competition in EQ at all. I don't know what it is about the hardcore player base in EQ but it's not something I want to be around.

No interest:

1 - Still not max level on my mains (and not cause I play alts... haven't played any of them in years)
2 - Action will be dominated by people with WAY more free time than me, so no point to bother with it
3 - Irregular play time will make it too hard to find a regular crew to play with

I hope it's a great success, but it's not for me.

This is how I feel about it. Too many people with too much time on their hands who will blow past 90% of the players.

No interest at all, here.

I'll play my main and an alt, but that's it.

Quarm is a great way to return to the game and learn everything as it comes out. I left during GoD and every time I tried to return I was overwhelmed by all the new stuff, and everyone being 30 levels over me.

I had a blast last night. People were running around everywhere and groups were easy to find. We ended up doing a couple hard LDoNs (which aren't so hard in Defiant).
