Looked through some old messages about transferring char ini settings over to a different PC.

I have went as far as copy/pasting the whole EQ folder to a different PC. But when go to copy layout, the characters I want to copy are not listed...

I have also looked in different directories...would hate to try to recreate all those settings...just wondered if anyone knew of any changes.

Thanks!

Did you login the old character and see if the moved settings "took"?

I'm assuming you're trying to copy layout to a new character you have made on the new PC. I'm asking because it is possible that the copy layout feature documents (and can only use) characters that have been logged in.

If you've copied all of EQ over, is the new PC using that set of files to run the game or a previously installed set?

Some thoughts, maybe not helpful. Good luck.

Nope...Thanks Snailish that was helpful, you got me to take another look.

I had the game shortcut on the desktop and I looked at the properties just to see where it linked to, and of course it linked to a different path.

Was to C:\Users\Public\Daybreak Games\Installed Games\EverQuest (Daybreak something), but it wasn't the Sony Online Entertainment like I had been copying things over to...sigh.

I must have did a fresh install then when I started moving stuff over, was moving to the wrong folder...

Much nicer now, thank you again!
