Our guild leader has been MIA for a while now. As Leader he has control of permissions and is the only one who could remove a player from guild. On Zek a opposing guild can infiltrate a spy and that spy could tell this said opposing guild members where other players are at if they are not anon and have guild tag hidden. So the question is, is there a way to partition SoE or DB or who ever this week to have the guild leadership moved to an active player?

No direct knowledge, but stories posted in the past have pretty much all stated that SOE/DBG won't do that.

It's different for EQ2 (or at least was) as they had a 60 day not logged in, membership may vote a new leader in mechanism. They also had a brief window of time on a server where you had to pay to create a guild... so not a role model. But likely a cause for some confusion in respects to what SoE (and now Daybreak) will do.

See this thread .

You might try and petition having an active player made co-leader... but sounds like the answer would be no.

You might have greater success petitioning for some officers with the ability to boot members being made.

Does someone have permission to change the guild message of the day? If so I would reform the guild with the message saying where to find the active guild (name of tag, officers for invites). If going this route, leave a mule in the inactive guild that you login during primetime for a while just to say hello and prompt people to move.

I currently have a character stuck in an inactive guild at the moment that moved. Problem is they have only given one invite contact and I am not catching that person on... I'll have to start chasing others with the tag I guess or move on.

Good luck Vinney.

I don't know if this will help, but I had several characters in the same guild on Xegony. The guild went inactive, but I was able to remove those characters from the guild. I don't know if they enabled this to allow any player to remove their characrers, or if guilds are designed to allow this.

From personal experience, when the game was operated by Sony, the GMs would do nothing to change guild leadership. The original creator of the guild is the only one who can make a change.

During my guild's tenure, I added other Guild Leaders (co-guild leaders actually.. but they have all the same permissions and authority as the Guild Leader). However, even after being dormant and inactive for years, I am unable to demote them or remove them from the guild. Only they can do that and to accomplish it, they have to log in and quit themselves.

Although I petitioned, I was told by the GMs that there was nothing they could (or would) do to assist.

Mute point now tho since the guild is virtually inactive, but as an example, you won't find any assistance from GMs / Devs if they hold onto the same guidelines at DBGs.

You have always been able to remove yourself from a guild. It's not a prison :)

I agree but there can be a trick to it. I've had a removal rejected when I just target myself and click the button on the guild window. But typing /guildremove always seems to work.

As far as DB is concerned the guild 'belongs' to the guild leader. I ran into this issue a good while back. I petitioned and explained the situation, leader no longer plays and does not recall account info in our case. They aggreed to make one of my toons a co-leader as i was also one of the guild founders. With the previso that i was NOT to dis band the guild or mass remove folk. That would result in my account being banned.

Suggest if you do get this, promote an alt with full powers as a backup.
