Well, my annual renewal is coming due in August.
After paying for Gold membership on four accounts non-stop from 2004, I am considering the free to play route.
I find myself only logging in a couple times a week for the last six or seven months. Haven't concentrated on much since we did the "Mutant" run
Anyone who has done this downgrade...what did you miss the most?
The two character/acount limit may be the one for me, is there still a plat limit on each toon?
On the other hand the in game pop ups/nags may drive me from 'free to play' to 'not playing'.
Sing out with any thoughts on this...inquiring minds want to know :-)

Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.

The plat limit is now gone, also the bag/bank slot limit. I've been doing free to play for a while now since I don't really have time for higher level content. I really enjoy just going out to explore the old world, killing rare things, and doing old quests nobody cares about anymore. I think the only problem I have with it is the AA cap, and the spell rank cap. Those are the only things that are keeping my characters at level 70.
also can only use apprentice mercs. and the AA cap is a pain too. Oh and you cant sell in the bazaar, well you can just cant set up a trader. which really sucks, especially for my pot selling...

I can play any of my guys. if you have all your character slots filled I believe you can use them all. i dont have any problems with that. if you go to a new server I think you can only create 2 toons.

Not being able to use prestige gear is a big drawback as well.
Not being able to create new characters with non-Crescent Reach as the starting city drove me batty last time I was silver.
I also dislike the constant reminders to "upgrade to gold"
If you're not pushing post level 70 content for your fun... minimal pinching of your options being F2P

All your accounts should be grandfathered in as Silver. Only accounts created after f2p, that didn't upgrade to Silver via 500 SC or when they offered 1+ months of Gold also granted Silver (no longer does) would revert to Bronze, or the current free-to-play level.
Silver allows 4 characters to be created per server. More, if you bought unlockers in the marketplace.
Lower level toons none of the current restrictions really bother me for Silver level. Post 80, the 1000 AA limit really starts hurting. On some servers, the character slot limit is a little annoying.

As for AA cap, my main characters on each account have 4-5 k aa. I think all remain active...but I can't earn more?
Ah! apprentice mercs... I can live with that ...I think.
Rukkuss do you make your own Pots for market? My grandmother used to throw pots, I used to love watching her on the potter's wheel. ;-)
My fear on the upgrade reminders also Snail.

Q: What happens if you go from recurring gold payments to using a few SOE SC/30 day cards? Are there any benefits lost like the 500 sc?

9.99 a month on a credit card or 1 kronos a month or 30 day cards doesnt matter gold is gold
