Last night, I upped my Ranger to Heroic. Afterwards, I noticed that with Spirit of Eagles on it was running way faster than my Bard of the same level. Both are Drakkin, so height differential is not an issue. Anybody else notice this?

Also, the Ranger was originally level 52, so I have a lot to learn about this class. How does one set up a legal way to auto use the range button to constantly shoot arrows? Any and all Ranger hints and tips will be much appreciated.

As I recall, you just make a hotkey and the first line is /autofire on.

I believe that hitting it again should turn it off. SOE put an actual, legal, autofire function into the game some years ago.

You recall correctly. This macro is a must have for Rangers.

as for the speed difference, it's possible that if you had Mask of the Stalker or another from the Mask line of spells, the magnification part of the buff changes your field of view, giving the perception that you're moving faster. Bards still move faster than Paladin horses.

Thanks for the tips! The warp speed corrected itself. I logged in the next day and all was fine. Nothing had changed on the char other than logging and re-logging. I must say though that the speed was really nice while it lasted!!

When this happens you should log out, reboot and log back in straight away. Moving that fast could be picked up by EQ's hack detector technology (not kidding here!) and you could get into trouble for warping/hacking. Even though this is a KNOWN BUG and that would be your defense, who wants the headache, right?

This comes under the EULA provision that players should not take advantage of discovered "exploits" and bugs but immediately notify the GMs of such incidents. I suggest logging off and logging back in, which usually fixes the problem for you and then you don't need to go reporting yourself.

This can be caused by a temporary timing problem with your computer's clock causing a mis-correlation between the client and the game server.

Word to the wise!

Once you get all the run speed AA, Rangers get extra on top of the normal ones, use levitate AA instead of spirit of eagles. You'll run much faster that way, pretty sure rangers are only second to bards as far as foot speed goes, I don't ever use a mount.

Monks and Bards were the original classes to have Run 8 aa's. Ranger's got theirs a few expansions later.

What is the name of the extended run AA's? I show run at 5/5 for my 85 Ranger.

Each Explorer achievement from original EverQuest to Rain of Fear will grant you a "Journeyman's Compass" along with progress toward completing all 20 explorer achievements.

The Journeyman's Compass when right clicked will tally up the total number of explorer achievements you have completed and will reward you with a rank of a new AA called "Journeyman's Speed".

Each rank of the AA is granted for every 4 qualifying explorer achievements you complete.

There are a total of 5 ranks that have the following effects:

Click the link, it's copied from there. I think the other classes, should have been those besides, Bard and Monk that already get Run 8, but not 100% sure.
