I recently created a Froglok Monk, but while the class is fun, the froggies home is set to Crescent Reach. I am sick of CR.Smiley: lol If I change the race to Iksar, will I get a new guild summons or will I have to do the lost newbie wep quest to start the Iksar progression quests. I know I can delete the char and restart, but I have put a lot of time into maxing skills and it would also be a PITA to parcel all his items to an intermediary char then back to a new one.

When you create a new character the default home setting is CR and has been for a few years. You have to change the starting city yourself at character creation.
Changing race to iksar may not change your problems with CR.

If your a gold (well all access) you can usually choose your starting zone. It is the F2P players who get forced to CR. I noticed when making my Wood Elf BST I was forced to CR though. Probably laziness on SOE's part. I have been told if your subscribed that you can petition to get your starting city changed.

I think they should just remove the origin AA and replace it with a long cast version of Gate for all classes. I also get really sick of CR.

Last time I subbed Gold on my rarely used 2nd account was to roll a pile of alts with "proper" starting cities.

If being a frog is still good for you KC, I would try and petition to be moved to Rathe. The handy PoK book and one level on the ground layout makes it arguably the best starting cities (as long as you like the whole tent city away from direct water never really getting established aspects of it).

After all, they did put trainers for monks there, even though last I checked you couldn't pick it as a starting city for a new frog monk.

Since you mention Iksars... I'm thinking you're up for an overall change. I want to say that you do get the newb notes again, but it has been a long time since I did a race change and I could be totally wrong. Many of these situations there is workarounds for (for example my old Iksar beast did the Shar Val citizenship quest with another characters slate).

Race change is $25 and your quest log is deleted so make sure you finish any quests you are currently working on. Race specific equipment will disappear or become unusable. I don't remember getting any of the newbie summons stuff, but I was level 100 when I did my race change and may have just missed it.

I agree with snailish, I prefer the "proper" starting cities, altho I dig how CR works better, since you might find players to group with and the quests are decent. But seems to me to make a dwarf and never spend time in Kaladim/BB, a wood elf who didn't grow up in the trees of GFay or an iksar to whom Field of Bones and Cabilis are unknowns... is just plain perverse! LOL

I agree. I am tired of repeating the same CR quests over and over. I really like the Iksar progression quests. I am kicking myself for starting a froggy. I'll probably suck it up, delete the frog and make a fresh lizard.

I agree. I love the Iksar starting zones, quests, and progression. It isn't as compact, efficient, and quick as CR, but it's a lot more fun.

I started an iksar shaman one time. Couldnt find out how to get out of guild hall so I deleted and went to CR. But yes the CR quests do get old, and I dislike the elevator.

Best way to get out of any guild hall is attack a guard and respawn outside. LOL

Smiley: lol Being an altoholic is sometimes a good thing! This weekend I decided to recon all the servers to see just what I have created over the years. Lo and behold, on Luclin/Stromm there he was! An Iksar Monk, long forgotten. I will now parcel all the Froggy's items to another char, delete it, then server move the Iksar. I love it when a plan comes together, even when said "plan" was a random occurrence! He was actually very nicely geared considering it was from 2002.
