Seeking Advice: Armor beyond Elegant Defiant (Group Level)Follow

On FV (where everything is pretty much tradable) elegant defiant is pretty much the standard choice 70-75.


At 71 my necro started wearing glowing gossamer which is from this quest . Last time I priced the quest components on a regular server they were way more than elegant defiant price-wise though.

I suppose Energeiac Armor is an option but I don't really see it beating the defiant, especially considering the effort involved.

There's also spotty itemization like world drops that are worth considering, especially if tradable on your server. Spotty in that you may or may not be playing a class that the drop is cheaply available or desirable.

I'd love to hear some other options. Once you hit the 80s there's a lot more (I have 1/2 my necros bank full of req level 80/81/82 armor, I have nothing for 76-79).

I'm also a returned player from 2001. When I came back to EQ, it was a completely different experience (as you might have encountered.)

I was wearing junk I could find from guild bank until I was able to afford some decent defiant gear (no elegant, had some flawed and elaborate) to level 65. Luckily a nice lvl 95 players thought my gears were so ridiculous (especially for a main) and gave me some Othni pieces to turn in.

It yielded some nice rubicite(?) armors for lvl71+. I'm not sure where or who drops the Othni, but that would be my guess as to your next level of armor.
