Back, after 2 yearsFollow

I decided after getting bored with WoW, learning to truly hate FFXI, finding EQ2 to be a complete waste, and several others to be not as fun as they could be... to come back to EQ.

I have to admit I was a bit shocked to find that not only has the game grown dramatically, but it is still keeping up graphically even as old as it is. The animations for the PCs are still pretty bad, but the game appears to be as good as ever. I suppose that says something about new technology and how it doesn't always carry a game.

I may return to WoW someday, or even consider something else. All in all, however, EQ can still stand on its own, and that says alot for SoE, dispite what some hateful people may say.

i think eq stong point isn't graafics (my god, look at half life 2) it is the need to get together. and also that you can do things alone. but to do BIG things. to do them well, you have to have everyone working their best. together. THAT is what eq has.

also, nothing is easy. sure somethings are a hell of alot easyer than they used to be. bu t hte good things, are not! so you still feel good when you finish it.

i have never tried WoW, or EQ2, but from what i have been told, the bigest draw back was the ease, the lack of everything everyone says they hate about eq lol. and yet they come back. because it was actualy that crap ya missed! no one wants it to be easy. what is the point then?

they also come back because of the people, i hear that alot too.

eq.....IMO is about to grow again, cause peeps coming back more and more. i am sooo glad i never left ;-P

Welcome back.

Somethings to keep in mind. You are leaving games with class balance and solo content, neither exists in eq. Also the average toon is alos very old level 65+. So finding groups at low levels isnt nearly as easy as it was before you left.

EQ presently is geared towards the raiding guilds. Also with some of the new features and fewer casual players then ever if you decide not to join a raiding guild joining a casual guild is a must as that is where 99% of your groups will come from.

Good luck and welcome back.

I also went to WOW for a year ( almost ) and came back to EQ. I am having more fun than I ever did. The game has expanded , I can still solo and gain XP . It is so much richer than WOW.
