Well, the ogre xp penalty is supposed to be 15%. So, yeah, 30 + 15% = 34.5, everything else being equal.

In reality, playstyle and how often/quickly you find groups will probably matter more than your race selection.

if it helps u dont really recieve a penalty u require 15% more per level to achieve the next level. A little bit of thinking will show u the difference.

level 30 requires alot less xp then level 34 so simply multiplying the xp modifier like joph did doesnt make any sence what so ever. The bottom line is this, on an ogre you will level a little slower then most other races but trying to calculate what level one race will be versus anothe rrace is useless and not much more then speculation.

In my experience it doesn't matter. I've played the entire time with the leadership xp going. That sucks 20% away from regular xp. Still, at level 61 I'm not far behind everyone else.

It matters a lot on how much you play, etc. Besides, when you reach level 70, it's the same level 70 as everyone else. Smiley: smile

I'm sure i'd be 70 if i wasn't so lazy but since my two main toons are an ogre and an iksar i'd have to say it's not all that bad. I do notice it a bit when i use my berzerker who is a vah shir but it's not enough to makeme not want to be an iksar monk. Now my orgre shammy was a dumb choice but he happens to be an ogre because i made him way back in the day and had a cool name on him.

How do you notice it if you only play toons with exp penalties?

To the original poster: The difference is more like level 67 vs. level 70, it's not ridiculously massive.

That's a good point and I wasn't really thinking about it.

I don't think it's "speculation" to see where you'll be in relation to other races though. If you have the numbers, it's fairly easy to chart where you'll be and where a no-penalty race would be. I don't claim to have the numbers but I'm sure some ShowEQ player or other third party hack user does.

When i got my berzerker who is vah shir from lvl 50 to lvl 52 i'd say i spent about 5 hours to get him there on random playtimes. My monk who is an iksar it took longer the problem is more that i got the zerker to 52 in about a month and it took me 5 years to get my monk to 63 sooo my actual time frame is a bit off. here is a good test to see where the penalty stands. Make a lvl 1 human monk and get him through the first part of the tutorial with arias. then make an iksar monk and put him through. Since i had a few noob chars roll through the tutorial one being my zerker and another was a ikky necro i was working with. The ikky came out with about half a bub less xp than my zerker. so it does affect the game but eh it takes time to level all chars no matter what and some races are more fun than others it just boils down to if you like it play it

I'd go with an iksar shammy if i wanted to roll a new shammy for the regen that they get. Also ogres are dumb as nails sot that's a bit of a limitation when you want to get skill ups plus they are ugly and have no charisma

But ogre shamans make good when they melee. The extra Hp they have from being ogres also helps in canni. Its a trade off.
