So the HillGiants that were in Rathe Mnts are gone, and Im guessing so are the days of picking up a quick k of plat..sigh.
Unless...any know if they moved them somewhere else?
All I can envision is 600 players trying to camp the 3 Frost giants now..lol

The last time I was there was a few months ago with my SK and a few months before that I was there with my DRU because I was extremly bored. Both times I was there I noticed my connectivity bar constantly dropping down to about 60% or so. This was not a 1 time thing. It happened every time I was in rathe and only in rathe. I talked to several people about it and they were having the same problem. We finally agreed it was an attempt by sony to get people away from the HG farming. Maybe it didn't work so they did away with them entirely?
IIRC something to do with the war was going on there. They may only be gone temporarily but if it was permanent it wouldn't surprize me.

If SOE wanted to put an end to HG farming, there's be many easier ways to do it that some kind of sneaky 'let's reduce bandwith on this one zone' conspiracy.
I suspect that until the frogs have found a new home, we won't have the HGs to toy with, but my guess would be that once the crunchies are set up elsewhere, the HGs will wander back. After all, what is a hill without a hill giant?

I am guessing withthe Froglok tent city up the Hill Giants may have been moved to East/West Karna hills but only guessing
Looking at the post after this one about Ogre DON armor has anyone checked the cyclops/Skelly hill or maybe the corrupted Druid hill? HGs may have moved to a new valley, with the Froggies trying to make a swamp the ground may be getting a bit mushy and bogging them down.

Couple of things in the game (besides plat-hounds) would be affected by this.
1. Druid Epic 1.0 needs drop from Corrupted Hill Giant.
2. DoN Expert's water needs Lambent Stones. They drop from other mobs but HGs were the best source.
3. I think Ogre's Expert's DoN Armor task is to kill X number of HGs in Rathe (and loot Lambent stones).

Well I ran the whole zone with Track and not a Hill Giant to be found.
I forgot bout the Druid epic 1.0 tie-in but lets face it folks...This wouldnt be the first (or the last) time SOE broke a quest and muttered the all mighty D'oH!

******** up an epic quest or worse, a quest from the last expansion seems a bit much, even for SOE. I have to believe this is temporary. A new Gukta city zone with the new expansion?
Maybe there is a limit on number of mobs in a zone, so when they added all the frog NPCs the HGs had to go. Are there any other NPCs notably missing from Rathe?

It make since to move them away from the froggie newbie zone. dahhh.
Lambent stones drop off sand giants about as commonly as the hill giants. Of course sand giants are abit more rare. Also Hill Giants can spawn in North Karana and I think in West Karana, although once again not as common? ITs possible the corrupted hill giant could simply spawn in another zone now?

Well, lets not forget SOE's record so far....
I remember when they broke the Paladin Epic when they changed the Bankers not to accept anything any player handed them. This lasted for quite awhile until they fixed it.
Oh well....we will have to see.

THe hill giants now spawn in the area that formerly held the paladin camp. Guess since no on is doing armor of ro quests much anymore they got the boot. ....

were are they exactly not familar with the paladin camp you speak of
well when you go into the zone use your map. there will be a note on the map for the paladin gm.
I thought the paladins had been evicted but they are still there.

I ran across several HG's in West Kanra the other night near the Oger camp.
