1.) Hit the mezzed mob.

2.) Kill Steal. A lot.

3.) ooc, gsay, say, tell, and guild have no meaning. Use shout - ALWAYS.

4.) Buy your character from Ebay. Make sure he is super high level, too, so you can learn really quickly how to play the game.

5.) No player can even call himself an Everquester unless he has begged everyone for everything. Do it. If you quest for something, or try to earn it yourself, you aren't playing correctly.

6.) CLERICS - go AFK, constantly, but don't put your tag up, or let anyone know. Your group has a LOT going on right now, in the middle of that raid, they don't need to know something pointless like the fact you aren't there.

7.) Don't EVER try to find out something for yourself by reading a board, or asking a question. You shouldn't be reading, anyway, you should be begging and Kill-Stealing.

8.) Groups that you are not in LOVE unexpected trains. Make sure you bring them as many as you can bring, and give NO warning. The challenge is what drives us!

9.) Get all the way to your 50's and 60's without maxing your spell skills. Actually, don't even start to cast until then. Little known fact - those fizzles that you keep having are actually a secret defense mechanism that will bring furry bunnies to your aid if you get in trouble.

10.) Cast Fear in LDoN's. PLEASE.

11.) Wizards - Cast every nuke you can AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, as fast as you can.

12.) Rangers, Warriors, Paladins and Rogues can cast Temperance, Virtue, Conviction, and C1-C6. Don't let those selfish morons tell you that they can't. DEMAND THOSE BUFFS!

13.) Tell EVERYONE how to "play their class," especially if you have NEVER played that class before. You can guess how to do it just as well as anyone.

14.) All those top-end raiders, with all the cool gear? They did a real simple quest at level 1 in their home city to get it all, including the flags.

15.) If someone calls out "LOM," it means you aren't pulling fast enough.

Anyone else have some good Tips in Esrever?

OMFG you are too funny Thoryndar!
How about this one:

16) When the MA pulls on a raid, everyone attack immediately. Its more of a challenge for the tank to keep agro. HE LOVES IT!

or

17) When there are 2 mobs and the left one is pacified, pull the left one! The wavy white lines are markers for which one to pull!

18.) If you are a druid port people to where ever you feel they need to be not where they want to go.

19.) Wizards just port everyone to Plane of Sky they love it there.

20.) If you are a warrior and ur not pulling feel free to just go afk and not tell anyone and make a sandwhich then come back.

21.) If you are a cleric and someone asks you for buffs just load up your level 1 buffs. Thats really all they need.

[li] Everyone wants to buy your Rusty Short Sword for 200pp They just missed your /auction. Try advertising it in /ooc /gu /shout /say /flagraids every 15 seconds.

[li] The In game casino is boring. Make up your own casino with the most assnine odds you can think of. The more obscure the better like roll a 1 433 if you get a 233 then you can roll again 1 899 with a chance of hitting 110 divide that by 4 then multiply by the amount you bet minus the current time GMT and that is what you win if I roll a 43 out of 743. Then advertise this in all the previously listed channels every 7 seconds between your auctions.

[li] Everyone wants to be in your guild, and nobody likes to wait to be asked, invite everyone you run by in PoK/kurns/pc, Keep inviting them in case they accidently close the invite box.

[li] random on everything that drops unless it is valuble, if something anyone else is interested in drops, hurry up and pull before everyone else is done rolling, especially if you are not the puller.

[li] /hump or /bite every female toon in your group several times a pull, when he/she makes a rude gesture at you ask them to ingame marry you.

[li] link every piece of gear you have in every group no matter how inane it is, insist how it is better than everyone elses, in detail

[li] If ever in a disagreement be sure to let the person know that your brother is a GM and he is going to BaN Ur AZz!!! Then let the entire zone know how much of a cheating loser the other person is every 3 seconds between your auctions and casino spam

if it's no drop or no trade go ahead and loot it anywayz no one will complain.

also always loot everything you can and never share your money with anyone you'll make lots of friends that way.

when running through zones /ooc, shout, auction first person to find me wins a million plat.. then go zone.

it's always fun to just go and invite random people to join your group, if they say no keep inviting till they do.

find a level 70 cleric and ask them for the most bizzare buffs you can think of. can i get a center please????

always shout willing to buy (wtb) no trade raid items... just to see what people will say about it... or better yet the MQ for it.

zone into a lowbie zone (this works well if you have an aoe of 800 points or more) and just pull everything and nuke it all at once... there are no camps so no one will complain.

goto someone's camp wait for what they are looking for to spawn and kill and just destroy the item they've spent the last week obtaining... there are no camps they won't complain.

and finally... INSPECT EVERYONE 105 times... and if the run away follow them inspecting them over and over.

i don't know if we can get more evil than destroying people's loot they've been working on but lets hear other's lol

Oh I forgot one:

Go on Epic raids and ninja the epic item, then tease the person who was suppose to get it. Tell them you will MQ it for them for eleventy billion platinum plus interest on every day it takes them to come up with the pp.
#9 Jul 28 2005 at 7:32 PM Rating: Decent
Request help for your epic, reminding everyone how you've been there to help them on theirs, and now it's your turn. Invite all your allies, friends, and guildies, picking a day and time when most will have to forego other raids and functions. When all are assembled and in the raid, ready to be OTM, ask in /RS, "Does anyone know how to start my epic?"
#10 Jul 30 2005 at 11:39 PM Rating: Decent
I personaly enjoy when random people I don't know send me tells asking if I can spare any gear or pp

steal aggro off of everyone else if you're a warrior. regardless of how many thousands of hps they have, and regardless if they have a chain on them.

I think I have a few good suggestions, but some of these may be stupid, as I haven't played the game yet.
(I just bought EQ: Evolution from Direct2Play yesterday, and have a lot more downloading to do.)

1. Instruct newbies of how to use /report and /petition to unlock special bonuses if they do them often enough.

2. Shout/ooc/scream/tell the word "Monkey-Fudge" to everyone you see, and be persistant.

3. Report anyone that asks you anything about anything, especially if they are a newbie.

4. Petition vaugly worded complaints against innocent GMs and Guides.

Example: /petition A nameless GM took my rare items and deleted my report about it.

5. Get newbies to give you consent, and then drag thier corpse into a dangerous area. (They love a challenge.)

6. Give newbies excellent items, in the condition that they help you make a screenshot of a pseudo-theft of said item by saying something like "I know it's yours, but I'm just going to keep it, because you can't do anything about it.", then scroll up and /report them for it and /petition to get them punished for that.

7. Tell newbies of the super secret bonuses they can get in combat by typing /quit.

8. Complain abou the fact that although you haven't played yet, you can come up with better stuff than everyone else, and remind everyone that you're superior to them in every possible way.

Come on people, you can contribute better stuff that this.

Like I said, I haven't even played yet, and I can come up with loads of stupid stuff to get myself banned for life.

You people must be vastly inferior to me...

(BTW I really do like the suggestions here, and I appreciate this stupid comedy, provided it's in a thread such as this, so that newbies like me will not take it seriously.)

My favorite scenario...

X. Don't EVER read your group chat messages. All you do in the game is kill things--this doesn't require communication. Everyone else realizes this and is not talking to *you* with their messages.

XX. If you are a melee and not tanking, you should use every skill you have, like taunt and disarm, so the mob dies quicker. If it attacks you, it's because the tank is slacking. Don't worry, the healer will keep you alive.

XXX. Again, if you are a melee, make SURE you attack the mob from the front, especially if it hits very very hard. This is so slash it in crucial points like the chest and arms, making it attack less. The cleric will love it because that means they dont have to do anything.
#16 Jul 31 2005 at 10:58 PM Rating: Decent
a personal favorite

**if you are a druid or wizard in a trial make sure that if you are attacked that you quickly press evac as soon as you can to help make sure that everyone lives. This is especially important to necromancers who may just be laying on the ground. The whole group will thank you for seeing to it that they all get to see all of that content again rather then having to waste expensive Esscene Emeralds to rez in place.

Here are some things that have actually happened to my rl best friends brother <who is only about 10 and naive>

*When you win a roll on a rare drop make sure you /q to make sure you can equip it. /q lets you see if you can equip it and if it is an upgrade for you.

*If someone tries to bind you, trust them that its a good place to bind. Its not like they will bind you underneath a mob or on the bottom of an ocean.

*Get in a guild as soon as possible. Guilds are there to teach young players how to play and dont mind having constant questions from noobs. Hey they have experience why not pester them until they share it?

*Make sure that you carry extra crappy gear in your backpacks so when an item drops you can claim its an upgrade, even if its not.

*Get to LvL 70 in 2 weeks. Most players dont care if you know how to play a class. Its not like a LvL 70 cleric should know about his CH or any of his HoT's. His minor healing just gets better as he levels.

*Casters can only cast if they have their gear on them. If you see someone <Cleric/Shaman/Enchanter> in PoK naked waiting for rez they are completely unable to cast buffs until they get their body back. Their spells are on their equipment.

*If your a caster make sure you melee when out of mana. Mana comes back eventually even if fighting, and hey why not make the cleric out of mana too? Serves him right for being in better control of his mana.

*Guilds are like goodwill stores. Join a guild, go shopping in their guild bank, take everything you can use and leave the guild and join another. Rinse, repeat. Hey its not like they care or anything.

Here is MY personal favorite cause it is happening to me.
*Realize that if you are not level 70 then you should not expect any help from your guild on raids and epic quests. Hey it doesnt matter that you spent all the time farming/factioning/questing and are ready for the final turn in. You have to get to lvl 70 to show the guild your worth helping. Then you should help everyone else from start to finish who was 70 before you then get help.

*bug mommy and daddy non stop until they let you buy and play EQ on thier computer.

*make a character with the most childish name possible (example: Slapyou Inthehead)

*make sure when playing you act like the 10 year old you are. This includes spamming pok with your childish rants.

*rinse, repeat
#19 Aug 01 2005 at 8:47 AM Rating: Decent
*Make sure that you carry extra crappy gear in your backpacks so when an item drops you can claim its an upgrade, even if its not.*
------------------------------------------------------------

Ouch. I think I've been a victim of that one - I never would have thought to even DO something like that!

Ooh I have one:
After joining a group tell them you have to to afk for a moment, then continue your normal activities around the house. You will still get XP and your group will be happy to share since after all, a full group gets a 20% xp bonus, so it doesn't really matter if you're there helping or not. Take your time.

Let newbs know that they can examine their pets to find out how many HP they have by doing /ex. It is a bit buggy though and has been known to make some people crash. (Great on raids too).
#21 Aug 01 2005 at 11:37 AM Rating: Decent
My fave, run thru a zone yellin /ooc to see your exp bar as numbers instead of a bar type /ex and hit enter... watch people vanish like flies
#22 Aug 01 2005 at 2:10 PM Rating: Decent
Add these....

a) Ignore or refuse to join groups for a raid when you have your LFG tag up and your spamming for a group

b) Figure out lots of cool ways to spell words other than in plain English. This is really helpful in raids. People will think your cool and all the chicks that you meet will be begging you for sex.

c) Tell everyone your opinion on everything

d) Make sure you tell everyone what class/race very piece of equipment goes to

e) NEVER EVER use any punctuation

f) Join raids and then leave 15min into them because your mom needs to use her computer

g) And one of my personal favourites.......when your group has formed up and your going to the raid location, feel free to take off by yourself and go there in 4secs. Then spam everyone for taking too long or getting lost. Don't bother listening to the raid leader who told everyone to stick together. You don't need to help others get there, everyone knows everything, just like you. As a matter of fact, everyone wishes they were you.
#23 Aug 01 2005 at 4:01 PM Rating: Decent
*The Bard songs with the hearts for icons do NOT regenerate mana, no matter what the Bard says. When your group's level 50+ Bard is singing and you don't see the level 21 mana song's icon, repeat "mana song plz" constantly.

*Click off every spell that hits you and has "Recourse" at the end of its effect's name. These spells are bad to have on you, even though every other bad spell in the game CAN'T be clicked off.

*When the Necromancer slows an undead mob, immedietly cast your inferior general slowing spell to cancel it out. Ths will give the Necromancer his mana back, and help the tank raise their defense skills when the mob hits faster.

*Make sure the monster faces the Rogue at all times.

*Ask the Dark Elf with the robe and a skeleton next to him for Clarity. The ones who're in skeleton form have an especially higher class of Clarity.

*And, this is most important one--when you're pulling, ALWAYS bring the monster straight to the casters, so they can have better aim with their spells.

I think my absolute favorite was the ranger who while playing tank (he was a midranged and could at the time) kept casting jolt and then would cast dots when the warrior was with us.

not sure if its been said but .....
* Make sure the bard plays all aoe songs while someone in the raid is pulling a mob from a group. This will make it a challange and almost guarantee a wipe and the raid will thank you for the mana song :)
